Our immediate priority is completing an existing mortgage website built with WordPress, Gutenberg, and Kadence. This is not a full website rebuild. Initial Responsibilities You may assist with: Auditing the existing WordPress setup and active plugins Confirming backups before development begins Working with Gutenberg and Kadence Standardizing global colors, fonts, buttons, and spacing Repairing/improving headers and navigation Repairing/improving footers Completing existing page layouts and homepage sections Improving mobile/tablet responsiveness Configuring and testing forms and lead capture GA4 and Google Search Console setup Basic technical SEO Website performance and security improvements Testing links, forms, buttons, and conversion paths Documenting significant changes Future Automation Work The right developer may also assist with: Video-to-blog automation YouTube/transcript processing AI-assisted content workflows Automated WordPress draft creation API and webhook integrations Zapier/Make workflows CRM and lead-generation automation Google Workspace integrations Additional JMG websites and digital projects Development Philosophy We prefer lightweight, fast, maintainable WordPress websites. We do not want unnecessary plugins, duplicate functionality, excessive page builders, or recurring paid software added when existing functionality can accomplish the job. Do not install paid plugins, replace themes/page builders, or make significant architectural changes without approval. How We Work Development tasks are organized with clear priorities, estimated hours, dependencies, and acceptance criteria. Our workflow is: Ready → In Progress → QA Review → Done If information or approval is needed, the task moves to Waiting on Deborah. If revisions are required after QA, it moves to Changes Required. We value developers who communicate clearly, follow instructions, stay within approved scope/hours, document their work, and raise potential issues before making major changes. Required Skills Strong experience with WordPress, Gutenberg, Kadence, responsive design, HTML/CSS, WordPress forms, website troubleshooting, backups, performance optimization, GA4, Google Search Console, and basic technical SEO. Experience with APIs, webhooks, Zapier, Make, AI integrations, JavaScript, PHP, or workflow automation is a strong plus. Budget & Trial This is an ongoing part-time contract with a current development budget of approximately $400 per month, based on approved work. We will begin with a small paid 2–3 hour trial before assigning ongoing work. Strong performance can lead to continued projects across multiple websites and future automation initiatives. To Apply Please provide: 2–3 WordPress websites you personally worked on and explain what you did Your experience with Gutenberg and Kadence An example of a website you inherited and improved rather than built from scratch Any automation/API/AI workflow experience Your hourly rate and weekly availability Please begin your proposal with “JMG Developer” so I know you read the complete posting.
