Senior Go Backend Engineer to Improve Our AI Automation Pipeline

We have a live Go service that powers our AI automation workflows. We're looking for a senior Go engineer to review the current implementation and ship a focused set of improvements - this is a review plus hands-on coding engagement, not audit-only. What you'll do: - Review our existing Go codebase and AI automation flow, then share a short list of concrete improvement points - Implement the agreed fixes directly in the codebase: - Refactor the LLM integration layer (cleaner abstraction, structured request/response handling) - Add proper retries, timeouts, context cancellation, and rate-limit handling - Improve error handling and add meaningful logging around AI calls - Tighten endpoint/handler structure and response consistency - Add basic unit tests for the changed logic - Deliver a short summary of changes made and any recommended next steps Requirements: - Strong production Go experience (goroutines, channels, context, interfaces, REST APIs) - Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI / Anthropic / similar), including structured output - Comfortable reading an unfamiliar codebase and improving it without breaking existing behavior - Git workflow, clean commits, clear PR descriptions - Nice to have: Docker, PostgreSQL, queue/worker patterns Deliverables: - Reviewed and refactored Go code merged via pull request - Unit tests for updated components - Brief written summary of improvements and recommendations Small, clearly scoped task.
