Long-Term Consulting Role | Potential Path to Full-Time Leadership Legendary Solutions is looking for a Senior Salesforce Consultant / Business Analyst who can independently own client relationships and Salesforce delivery from an ambiguous business problem through a successful production solution. This is not a ticket-taking Salesforce Administrator role, and it is not primarily a developer or enterprise architect position. We need someone who can sit across from a client, understand how their business actually operates, recognize when the requested solution is not the right solution, ask the questions nobody else thought to ask, and then translate that understanding into a Salesforce implementation that is practical, maintainable, and well documented. What We Are Looking For You should be comfortable moving between business analysis, Salesforce administration, solution design, client consulting, and delivery ownership. You do not need to know everything. We care much more about how you think, how you communicate, whether you take ownership, and whether you know when to ask for help than about collecting every Salesforce certification available. You should be someone who: * Can lead discovery and requirements conversations without needing a script. * Understands the difference between what a client asks for and what the business actually needs. * Is willing to respectfully challenge a client’s proposed solution. * Can independently configure Salesforce, not merely write requirements for someone else to implement. * Understands Salesforce data modeling, security, automation, reporting, and deployment fundamentals deeply enough to make sound design decisions. * Can manage several clients or workstreams without clients feeling neglected. * Communicates risks and problems early rather than waiting until something becomes an emergency. * Documents decisions well enough that another consultant can understand what was built and why. * Can collaborate effectively with developers when Apex, LWC, integrations, or more advanced engineering are required. * Takes pride in leaving an environment cleaner and more maintainable than they found it. * Is comfortable mentoring less experienced team members and reviewing their work. * Wants to become part of a team rather than simply completing another freelance contract. The Work Depending on the engagement, you may own: * Discovery and stakeholder interviews * Current-state and future-state process analysis * Requirements and user stories * Solution design * Salesforce configuration * Flow and automation * Data modeling * Permissions and sharing * Reports and dashboards * Data quality and migration planning * Integration requirements * Sandbox configuration * Testing and UAT * Deployment planning * Production validation * Documentation * Training * Ongoing client advisory Some projects will be well defined. Others will begin with something closer to: “Salesforce is not working the way we need it to, and we are not entirely sure why.” We want someone who enjoys figuring out the second kind. How We Operate Legendary Solutions is building a consulting organization where strong people are trusted to do strong work. We want high standards without unnecessary bureaucracy, accountability without micromanagement, and a culture where people help each other succeed. We do not expect perfection. We do expect transparency. If you make a mistake, tell us. If you are overloaded, tell us. If you think we are making the wrong decision, tell us. If another team member needs help, help them. We would rather address a problem together while it is small than discover someone spent three days quietly trying to hide it. Likewise, client consulting here is not about saying yes to everything. Sometimes the most valuable thing we can tell a client is: “I understand why you are asking for that, but I do not think we should build it that way.” Then we need you to explain why and propose something better. What We Are Not Looking For This probably is not the right role if: * Your primary strength is writing Apex while someone else handles the client. * You prefer receiving fully formed requirements before beginning work. * Your Salesforce experience is primarily project or program management rather than hands-on implementation. * Your goal is to accumulate as many simultaneous consulting clients as possible. * You prefer working independently without meaningful team collaboration. Agencies and subcontracting firms should not apply. We are looking for an individual consultant who will personally perform the work and who is interested in developing a long-term relationship with our team. Experience There is no arbitrary certification count required. Strong candidates will generally have: * Several years of hands-on Salesforce experience. * Meaningful direct client and stakeholder experience. * Strong Salesforce administration and declarative automation skills. * Experience independently owning Salesforce implementations or substantial workstreams. * Experience with Sales Cloud and/or Service Cloud. * Strong understanding of Salesforce data architecture and security. * Experience taking changes through testing, UAT, deployment, and production validation. * Excellent written and verbal English communication. * Availability overlapping normal U.S. Eastern and Pacific business hours. Salesforce certifications are valuable, but demonstrated capability matters more than certification count. Development, integration, Experience Cloud, CPQ, Health Cloud, Agentforce, RevOps, or other specialized experience is a plus, not a substitute for the core consulting skills above. Long-Term Opportunity We are deliberately looking beyond a short-term freelancer relationship. The initial engagement will be consulting-based so both sides can determine whether the relationship works well in practice. For an exceptional mutual fit, there may be an opportunity to grow into a larger role, including full-time employment and/or leadership responsibility as Legendary Solutions grows. We want people who can eventually become trusted owners of client relationships, delivery standards, and other team members, not people we need to manage task by task. Application Questions Please answer these yourself and in your own words. We are much more interested in how you actually think and communicate than in receiving perfectly polished answers. 1. How many years have you worked professionally with Salesforce, and how much of that work was personally hands-on? 2. How many years have you worked directly with external customers or clients? 3. Tell us about your current workload. How many separate clients or major workstreams are you actively supporting today, and what is the maximum you believe you can support well at one time? 4. Tell us about a real requirements conversation where you believed the client’s requested solution was wrong. What did they ask for, what questions did you ask, what did you learn, and what was ultimately implemented? 5. Describe a Salesforce deployment you personally owned from requirements through production validation. What portions did you personally perform, and what portions were performed by others? 6. What documentation do you normally create during an implementation, and which documentation do you believe is actually valuable six months after the project is finished? 7. Tell us about someone you have mentored. What were they struggling with, what did you specifically do to help them improve, and what happened afterward? 8. A client tells you, “We need a new custom object.” Walk us through your thought process before you agree or disagree. Do not give us a list of Salesforce features. Tell us how you would actually approach the conversation. 9. Tell us about a Salesforce mistake you have personally made or a solution you would design differently today. What happened, and what did it change about how you work? 10. You are responsible for three clients. One sends you an urgent request, another has UAT tomorrow, and you discover something you planned to deploy for the third client has a design problem. What do you do? 11. Which Salesforce certifications do you currently hold? Certifications are not required. Please simply answer accurately. 12. Are you consistently available for collaboration during U.S. Eastern and Pacific business hours? Where are you located and what time zone are you in? 13. What hourly rate are you proposing for this engagement? 14. What are you looking for over the next several years? Are you specifically interested in remaining an independent consultant, or would you consider joining the right company full-time if the relationship developed naturally? 15. What type of work environment brings out your best work, and what type of environment makes it difficult for you to do your best work? 16. What is something about the way you work that we would not learn from your resume or Salesforce certifications? One Important Request AI tools are part of modern consulting, and we have no issue with our team using them effectively. However, please do not use ChatGPT or another AI tool to generate your answers to the questions above. We are not grading your writing. We want to hear your thinking, your experiences, and your voice, even if the answers are not perfectly polished. If we move forward, expect the interview to be conversational and scenario-based rather than a Salesforce trivia test.
