Social Media Manager — Nonprofit (Facebook & Instagram) About the Project We're a Chicagoland-based nonprofit providing free therapy and mental health support to individuals and families affected by the immigration, detention, and deportation crisis. We're looking for a mission-aligned Social Media Manager to grow our presence, tell our story, and connect us with the community we serve — as well as with mission-aligned nonprofits and organizations, and volunteer therapists. This role is ideal for someone who cares deeply about immigrant justice, mental health, and community-centered storytelling, and who can manage our social channels with both strategic thinking and day-to-day consistency. Responsibilities Create, plan, and manage content for Facebook and Instagram (3–5 posts per week, per platform) Source and create graphics, captions, and short-form video/content (Reels, Stories, etc.) Schedule and publish posts using a content calendar Actively engage with our community — respond to comments/DMs, and build relationships with followers, allies, and mission-aligned nonprofits/organizations Identify and engage with relevant hashtags, accounts, and community conversations to grow reach Track growth and engagement metrics (followers, reach, engagement rate, etc.) Provide a brief monthly summary report with key metrics and insights/recommendations Requirements Proven experience managing Facebook and Instagram for a brand, nonprofit, or organization Strong content creation skills (graphic design + short-form video/Reels) Excellent written communication and community engagement skills Comfortable working independently and proactively Genuine alignment with our mission — experience with nonprofits, immigrant rights, mental health, or social justice work is a strong plus Familiarity with scheduling tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Later, Buffer, or similar) Preferred (Not Required) Spanish language proficiency Experience working with or for immigrant-serving or mental health organizations Basic graphic design tools experience (Canva, Adobe Express, etc.) Details Platforms: Facebook, Instagram Posting cadence: 3–5 posts/week per platform Reporting: Brief monthly metrics summary Engagement: including nonprofits and mission-aligned organizations in our network Hours/Budget: [Add estimated weekly hours and hourly rate or fixed monthly budget] Duration: [Ongoing / trial period — specify] Start date: [Specify] To Apply Please include: Examples of social media accounts you've grown or managed (links preferred) A short note on why this mission resonates with you Your availability and rate expectations
