Visual Communications Designer

The Food is Medicine Institute (FIMI) is seeking support from a graphic design professional to develop graphic design assets for policymaker and healthcare leader education. This work will primarily be updating content on existing fact sheets (examples attached) and developing new fact sheets based on written content from our policy and research translation team. Fact sheets are to be designed in Canva. Most existing fact sheets will need to be imported as their current PDFs into Canva for editing; new fact sheets will need to be designed from scratch. All will adhere to our established fact sheet visual branding. The hired individual is welcomed and encouraged to use this branding creatively to generate engaging visual content. Secondarily, upon successful work delivery, the vendor may be asked to develop social media imagery, much of which will be rooted in the same content and all of which will be rooted in existing visual branding. The vendor will work with the Associate Director of Research Management and Dissemination and the Director of Policy Strategy. The individual will work closely with the hiring manager to ensure alignment on content, tone, and visual coherence. This work is expected to be no more than 5-10 hours/week but has the potential to be long-term. This is an hourly paid position; rate will be commensurate with Tufts temp worker guidelines and relevant experience. Pending successful design of assets, additional design opportunities (for example, in support of FIMI’s events) may be available.
