I am seeking a skilled social media manager to promote my novels and publishing company across various platforms. The ideal candidate will have experience in creating engaging content and implementing effective marketing strategies to reach a wide audience and build a community over a 6-month period. Deliverables Social Media Strategy & Content Develop and implement social media strategies for the Rachel Anthony author brand and Infinite Serenity Publishing (ISP), recognizing the distinct audience and voice of each. Develop and maintain a 30–60 day content calendar incorporating book launches, cover reveals, preorders, ARC campaigns, events, ISP announcements, submission windows, and reader engagement. Create engaging platform-specific content, including graphics, carousels, Reels/TikToks, quote graphics, excerpts, reviews, behind-the-scenes content, and promotional campaigns. Write captions, hooks, calls-to-action, hashtags, and keywords optimized for each platform. Repurpose existing content—including YouTube videos, newsletters, interviews, book excerpts, reviews, and publishing updates—into social media content. Schedule approved content through a designated third-party social media management platform. Maintain consistent branding and develop opportunities for strategic cross-promotion between Rachel Anthony and ISP. Identify relevant social media and publishing trends while prioritizing authenticity over simply chasing trends. Account Access & Engagement The Social Media Manager will not have direct login access to Rachel Anthony or ISP social media accounts. Content will be scheduled through an approved third-party platform. The Social Media Manager will not respond directly to comments or social media DMs. Rachel will retain responsibility for direct reader/follower engagement. The manager may monitor engagement, identify opportunities or issues requiring attention, and recommend or draft responses when appropriate. Influencer, ARC & Reviewer Outreach Research and build relationships with relevant BookTok, Bookstagram, YouTube, podcast, blogger, reviewer, and other literary influencers. Conduct professional outreach through email or other approved channels. Coordinate approved digital and physical ARCs/review copies. Maintain an organized database tracking contacts, outreach, responses, books distributed, content/reviews published, and results. Identify opportunities for interviews, giveaways, read-alongs, collaborations, and other promotional partnerships. Bookstore, Library & Book Club Outreach Research and conduct outreach to independent bookstores, Black-owned and women-owned bookstores, libraries, and book clubs appropriate for Rachel Anthony and ISP titles. Provide appropriate book information, sell sheets, ordering/distribution information, and promotional materials. Identify opportunities for book placement, author signings, readings, book club selections, author Q&As, library programming, and other events. Maintain organized contact databases and track outreach, responses, follow-up, and results. Develop long-term relationships that can support future ISP authors and releases. Podcast, Blog & Media Outreach Identify podcasts, book blogs, literary publications, newsletters, local media, and other relevant publicity opportunities. Develop targeted pitches and conduct outreach via email. Identify opportunities for interviews, guest appearances, author/publisher profiles, book reviews, guest articles, and feature stories. Coordinate approved appearances and maintain an organized media contact database. Book Launch & Event Campaigns Develop coordinated marketing campaigns for new releases, including pre-launch, preorder, launch-week, and post-launch strategies. Coordinate cover reveals, ARC campaigns, excerpts, reviews, countdowns, giveaways, influencer campaigns, events, and other promotional activities. Promote bookstore appearances, author signings, festivals, conferences, virtual events, book clubs, and ISP events. Develop strategies to maintain visibility and sales momentum beyond release week. Repurpose event photos, videos, interviews, and other assets into ongoing marketing content. Infinite Serenity Publishing Brand Development Develop strategies that establish ISP as a recognizable, professional, and trusted independent publisher. Create content communicating ISP's mission, values, books, authors, publishing philosophy, submission opportunities, and commitment to readers and authors. Build an audience for ISP that exists independently of the Rachel Anthony author audience. Support future author announcements, acquisitions, cover reveals, releases, events, and manuscript submission campaigns. Help develop repeatable marketing systems that can be used for future ISP authors and releases. Email & Outreach Management Manage an approved business/marketing email account for influencer, reviewer, bookstore, library, book club, media, event, and partnership communications. Respond professionally to marketing-related correspondence and conduct appropriate follow-up. Develop reusable outreach templates while personalizing pitches when appropriate. Escalate contractual, financial, legal, sensitive, author-submission, or other matters requiring Rachel's direct involvement. Analytics & Reporting Monitor social media and campaign performance through available third-party tools. Provide monthly reporting covering content performance, reach, engagement, audience growth, outreach results, website traffic when available, and other agreed-upon KPIs. Provide actionable recommendations—not simply statistics—identifying what worked, what didn't, and what should change. Evaluate performance based on meaningful business objectives rather than follower counts and other vanity metrics alone. Preferred Experience Demonstrated experience marketing books, authors, publishers, or literary brands. Knowledge of the publishing lifecycle, including ARCs, preorders, launches, reviewers, bookstores, libraries, book clubs, and long-tail book marketing. Experience with BookTok, Bookstagram, literary influencers, and online reader communities. Strong copywriting, content creation, email outreach, organization, and project-management skills. Experience marketing books by women and authors of color is highly desirable. Small press or independent publishing experience is a plus. Access & Ownership Rachel Anthony and Infinite Serenity Publishing will retain administrative control of all social media accounts. The manager will not receive direct passwords or unrestricted account access and will use an approved third-party scheduling platform. The manager may have access to a designated marketing email account for approved outreach and correspondence. All marketing assets, contact lists, influencer/reviewer databases, bookstore and media contacts, campaign data, templates, and other work created during the engagement will remain the property of Rachel Anthony Enterprises and/or Infinite Serenity Publishing. What Success Looks Like Success will be measured by more than likes and follower counts. Key indicators will include: Consistent, high-quality content and campaigns. Growth of relevant reader audiences and meaningful engagement. Increased awareness of Rachel Anthony books and ISP. Influencer, reviewer, bookstore, library, book club, and media relationships established. Publicity, event, review, and promotional opportunities generated. Increased book discovery, website traffic, email subscribers, preorders, and sales when measurable. Creation of an organized, repeatable marketing infrastructure capable of supporting future ISP authors—not just Rachel Anthony's books.
