Hermes Agent Engineer - Bugs, Reliability & Optimisation

We build practical AI agents for property and sales businesses. We need a hands-on operator-engineer to keep a growing fleet of Hermes agents reliable, fast and useful. 1. Own bugs and uptime. Diagnose and fix agent, gateway, model, authentication, cron, memory and WhatsApp failures. Find root causes and verify fixes in the real user channel. 2. Improve quality and economics. Set up monitoring, response-quality evaluation and model testing across quality, speed and cost. 3. Build practical integrations. Connect APIs, MCP tools, OAuth, CRMs, Google Workspace and messaging systems. Turn manual fixes into repeatable systems. 4. Operate with urgency. We want a growth hacker at heart: resourceful, experimental, commercially aware and able to ship without waiting for perfect conditions. 5. Communicate simply. Your single point of contact is one product owner. Day-to-day communication is via WhatsApp. You must work reliably with Australian Eastern Time (AEST/AEDT). Send concise updates: issue, evidence, action, result and next step. What matters: - Production experience with AI agents or automation systems. - Strong debugging across Linux, APIs, webhooks and messaging. - Enough Python to work directly inside Hermes and diagnose its runtime. - Security, backups, rollback and proof of real-world fixes. - Available immediately for a paid 5-10 hour audit, then 10-20 hours/week. This is not a prompt-writing role. We need someone who hustles, solves messy problems and helps us scale a dependable agent operation.
