Full Stack Engineer for Software Optimization

Our design team ships AI-assisted ("vibe-coded") builds fast: sites, investor microsites, client tools, dashboards, tools. That speed wins the product; it doesn't survive real traffic on its own. We need a versatile, growth-minded engineer who moves as comfortably fixing frontend polish as re-architecting a backend so it doesn't fall over at 1,000 users. 🎯 Role Overview You'll own builds end-to-end — not review-only. You inherit a codebase you didn't write, secure it, scale it, and ship it clean enough to bill under our name. Ideal for a generalist who thrives on variety across frontend and backend, values clean code, and wants direct line-of-sight from their commitment to a client seeing the work. 🔑 Key Responsibilities Feature Delivery: Build, test, and deploy production-ready code across the entire stack. Frontend Development: Fix and extend responsive, accessible, fast UIs in modern JS frameworks — polish what AI-generated frontend left rough. Backend Architecture: Design scalable server-side logic, optimize database queries, build robust REST/GraphQL APIs. Scale for Growth: Identify what breaks first as usage climbs — 10 users → 100 → 1,000 → 10,000+. Common failure points in our builds: single-container deploys with no failover, no database backup strategy, code accidentally locked to one thread when it needs to run many jobs/agents concurrently. Security & Compliance: OWASP Top 10 pass every engagement (injection, broken auth, access control, XSS/CSRF, SSRF), row-level access control, rate-limiting on public write endpoints, CCPA/CPRA-aware data handling, zero PCI scope creep (hosted Stripe/PayPal only — card data never touches our servers). System Health: Monitor, debug, and optimize application performance and infrastructure uptime. Collaboration: Partner with Dofrane (creative director) to translate design/product intent into technical builds. 🧰 Technical Requirements Frontend: Modern JS framework experience (React, Vue, or similar), HTML5, CSS3 (Tailwind/Sass), TypeScript. Backend: One production stack deep — Node/TypeScript, Python, or Go — server-side fundamentals: HTTP/REST, auth/sessions/JWT, the server/client trust boundary. Databases: Relational (Postgres/MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB/Redis); migrations; backup/recovery strategy — not just schema design. Cloud & DevOps: Docker, CI/CD, and comfort scaling past a single container (Vercel/Render/Fly/VPS or AWS/GCP/Azure). Code quality: You write and read code yourself — no AI holding the pen for the actual engineering. Git discipline: branches, clean commits, real PRs. Testing on critical paths. Comfortable reading and reasoning about unfamiliar (often AI-generated) codebases quickly. Professional written English — this is an async, HOD-only handoff role. 🌟 Nice-to-Haves Experience scaling an application through a real traction spike (10 → 1,000+ concurrent users). Auth providers (Supabase, Clerk, Auth0) — and knowing when not to add one; Postgres/Supabase row-level security. Performance profiling / Core Web Vitals. Prior experience cleaning up AI-generated ("vibe-coded") codebases. A track record of migrating a client off unnecessary paid SaaS. Open-source contributions or a portfolio of side projects you're proud of.
