Summary

The Systems & Integrations Developer is responsible for building, integrating, automating, and maintaining the technology that powers our durable medical equipment (DME/HME) operations. This role sits at the intersection of our two core platforms NikoHealth (order, billing, and inventory management) and Parachute Health (electronic ordering and referral intake)—and is accountable for keeping data flowing accurately and securely between them and our surrounding systems (billing clearinghouses, e-signature/intake tools, payer portals, and reporting infrastructure). The ideal candidate combines strong software and API development skills with a working understanding of healthcare operations and a commitment to HIPAA-compliant, reliable systems. Key Responsibilities Platform Integration & Automation • Build and maintain integrations between NikoHealth and Parachute Health, ensuring order, patient, insurance, and document data stays synchronized and accurate across both platforms. • Develop and support API connections, webhooks, and data pipelines between our core platforms and external systems (billing/clearinghouses, payer portals such as Availity, e-signature and intake tools, and internal databases). • Automate manual workflows — including order intake, assignment-of-benefits (AOB) collection, document routing, and recurring data exports—to reduce operational friction and error rates. • Design and manage ETL processes for daily operational data (task exports, billing reports, shipping/SLA data) feeding downstream reporting and analytics. Development & Tooling • Build internal tools and applications that support operations, billing, and HR workflows (e.g., custom dashboards, form-based intake, tracking utilities). • Configure, customize, and extend NikoHealth and Parachute Health functionality within the limits each platform allows, and document all configurations. • Write clean, well-documented, maintainable code and maintain version control, environments, and deployment processes. Data, Reporting & Compliance • Support reporting and analytics by structuring exports, building queries, and delivering accurate, timely operational data to leadership. • Ensure HIPAA compliance across all integrations and tools, including secure handling of PHI, access controls, audit logging, and data-retention practices. • Troubleshoot and resolve data discrepancies, integration failures, and platform issues, coordinating with vendor support (NikoHealth, Parachute Health) as needed. Collaboration & Support • Partner with operations, billing, and HR to translate business requirements into technical solutions. • Manage vendor and platform relationships on technical matters, including onboarding new integrations and evaluating new tools. • Provide documentation, training, and support to internal users on the systems and automations you build. Required Qualifications • 2+ years of professional software development or systems-integration experience. • Strong proficiency with REST APIs, webhooks, and integrating third-party SaaS platforms. • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript/Node.js, C#, or similar). • Experience working with structured data formats (JSON, CSV, XML) and building data pipelines or automations. • Solid understanding of databases and SQL. • Familiarity with handling sensitive data and awareness of HIPAA or comparable data-privacy requirements. • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a lean environment. • Clear written and verbal communication skills for working with non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications • Direct experience with NikoHealth and/or Parachute Health, or comparable DME/HME or healthcare platforms. • Background in the DME/HME industry, medical billing, or healthcare operations. • Experience with iPaaS/automation tools (e.g., Zapier, Make, or similar) and workflow orchestration. • Understanding of insurance and reimbursement workflows (prior authorization, EOB/EOP, HCPCS coding). • Experience building internal dashboards or reporting tools.
