Long-term CTO To oversee and manage the development multiple web and mobile products

YRW Technologies owns and operates a growing portfolio of 25+ mobile apps, web apps and desktop software products across industries including music, AI, SEO, infrastructure and online marketplaces. We are looking for an exceptional CTO / Head of Product who can take ownership of product development, engineering teams and technical operations across our portfolio. This is not a role for someone who simply follows existing procedures. We need someone who can challenge conventional methods, identify problems others overlook and invent faster, smarter and more effective ways of doing things. Responsibilities Lead products from concept and PRD through development, launch and ongoing maintenance. Develop a genuine product vision and independently propose new features, functionality and improvements. Identify bottlenecks throughout the user journey and build solutions that make our products easier and more satisfying to use. Recruit, shortlist, hire, manage and replace engineers and designers when required. Build organised systems, workflows, SOPs and performance-management processes. Ensure assigned products remain functional, secure and available. Oversee QA and proactively eliminate bugs, usability problems and technical issues. Decide when processes should be automated, outsourced or assigned to specialists. Maintain high standards across frontend development, backend development, DevOps, security and code quality. What We Are Looking For You must be able to outperform and guide the founder in CTO, product and engineering-management responsibilities—not wait for step-by-step instructions. The ideal candidate: Thinks from the user’s perspective before building anything. Creates original, functionality-driven UI rather than generic templates or AI-generated designs. Can identify when a codebase should be repaired versus rebuilt. Understands full-stack development and can quickly adapt to unfamiliar technologies. Has strong recruiting, team-management, project-management and organisational skills. Challenges assumptions and develops unconventional solutions to difficult or seemingly unrealistic requirements. Uses AI as a tool without producing low-quality “vibe-coded” work. Rarely says something cannot be done without first exploring a better solution. Technologies may include Node.js, React, Next.js, Django, PHP, Laravel, C++, Figma and Webflow. Flexibility and problem-solving ability matter more than experience with any specific framework. Relevant backgrounds may include former CTO, senior engineering leader, product head, startup founder, innovation lead, development-agency operator or scale-up engineering leader. Engagement The position will begin through part-time, contract or KPI-based work so both parties can prove compatibility. Strong performers may transition into a permanent, full-time leadership position. Compensation depends on the role and project: Individual product builds: fixed project-based compensation. Fractional CTO: equivalent packages starting from approximately $190,000 AUD annually. Permanent dedicated CTO: packages may reach $575,000 AUD annually, subject to demonstrated performance and responsibility. Product-based management roles may receive an ongoing monthly fee for each product built and maintained. Candidates based in Australia or the United States are strongly preferred.
