Frontend/UI Developer — Polish & Elevate a Next.js Web App (Design Refresh, Not a Rebuild)
Worldwide
We have a fully functional web platform (built in Next.js 16 / React 19 / Tailwind CSS 4 / shadcn UI) that handles employee/contractor inductions — one portal for inductees (learners going through onboarding content) and an admin portal for staff managing it. All the functionality, routing, and data are already built and working end-to-end. What we need now is a visual and UX polish pass, not new features. The ask: Take the existing inductee-facing portal (dashboard, induction player, documents, profile, etc.) and freshen up its look — more elegant, more professional, more "designed" rather than functional-but-plain. We also want a couple of specific pages on the admin side given the same treatment. This is intentionally scoped as frontend-only, low-risk work: - No backend, database, or business logic changes - No new pages or features — the structure and content are done - Focused on layout, spacing, typography, color, micro-interactions, component polish, and overall visual hierarchy - Should be a relatively contained job for someone confident in UI/UX — we're looking for someone who's simply a stronger visual designer than we are Tech stack: Next.js (App Router), React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS v4, shadcn/ui components, lucide-react icons. Both the inductee and admin portals live within a single, well-organized Next.js codebase, so all the work happens in one repository rather than across separate projects. What we're looking for: - Strong portfolio of clean, modern, professional web UI (SaaS dashboards, portals, or similar B2B products) - Comfortable working directly in an existing Tailwind/shadcn codebase rather than starting from a blank Figma file - Good eye for spacing, hierarchy, color, and consistency — someone who can take "functional" and make it feel premium To apply: Please share 2–3 examples of UI work where you took an existing product and elevated its visual design (not built from scratch), and a short note on your approach to a job like this.
