WordPress / WooCommerce Expert — Immediate Start About the Role We're looking for a hands-on WordPress expert who lives and breathes WooCommerce. You'll build new e-commerce stores from the ground up and take ownership of existing stores we already operate — keeping them fast, secure, and selling. This is not a "we'll get started next quarter" role. We're ready to move now, and we need someone who is too. What You'll Do - Build complete WooCommerce stores from scratch: theme setup, store configuration, product catalogs, checkout flow - Operate and maintain our existing stores: updates, monitoring, troubleshooting, and ongoing improvements - Configure and manage payment gateways (Stripe, PayPal, and others as needed) - Add and manage products, variations, pricing, and inventory - Install, configure, and keep plugins updated — with judgment about what's worth installing in the first place - Handle transactional and marketing email setup (SMTP, deliverability, order notifications) - Harden site security: backups, malware prevention, SSL, user roles, and recovery planning - Diagnose and fix technical issues quickly — performance, conflicts, errors, downtime - Follow best practices throughout: staging environments, version control where appropriate, clean configurations, and documentation What We're Looking For - Deep, proven WordPress and WooCommerce expertise — this is your core skill set, not a side capability - Strong command of the full stack around it: hosting environments, DNS, PHP basics, caching, and performance optimization - Experience with payment gateway setup and PCI-conscious configuration - A security-first mindset and a disciplined approach to updates and backups - Ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and take ownership without hand-holding - Available to start immediately Required With Your Proposal - **At least two live e-commerce stores you've personally built or managed**, with links and a short note on what you did for each - A brief summary of your typical stack and workflow (hosting, plugins you trust, how you handle staging and backups) - Your availability and rate **To apply:** Send your portfolio links, a few sentences on your experience, and your earliest start date.
