Japanese Creative Writer (Freelance)

We are seeking talented Japanese creative writers to help evolve and enrich voice-controlled virtual assistant dialogs. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the personality, quality, and cultural relevance of a globally recognized AI-powered assistant, ensuring engaging and natural interactions for users in the Japanese market. This is an ongoing cooperation opportunity requiring approximately 20 hours per week. Requirements Availability of approximately 20 hours per week Strong preference for candidates based in Japan Ability to collaborate directly with customer stakeholders and project teams Native-level Japanese language skills Professional working proficiency in English ​ Key Qualifications Exceptional writing, editing, copywriting, and summarization skills, with excellent attention to detail Proven ability to adapt to a variety of writing styles, particularly conversational and character-driven content Deep understanding of Japanese culture, traditions, current events, trends, and popular culture, supported by ongoing engagement with the local market Minimum of 5 years' professional experience in a senior writing, content, editorial, or similar creative role Experience creating dialog-based, conversational, or personality-driven content Ability to balance creativity with practical requirements such as brevity, clarity, consistency, and tone of voice Strong critical-thinking skills, with the ability to explain creative decisions and provide structured rationale for content choices ​ Assessment Process Please note that all candidates will be required to complete and successfully pass an assessment as part of the selection process.
