Full-Stack Engineer / Technical Lead

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on AI Full-Stack Engineer / Technical Lead to join us initially as a part-time contractor. For the right candidate, this role has the potential to expand into a full-time position as our software and AI development needs grow. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across the entire application stack and can take a web application from development through production. You will help manage AI-assisted software development, full-stack development, troubleshooting, deployment, security, and ongoing application operations. We do not expect candidates to be experts in every technology listed below. We are looking for strong full-stack fundamentals, intermediate-to-advanced technical skills, experience deploying real-world applications, and the ability to quickly learn and work across different technologies. Required Skills & Availability * Fluent English communication is required, including the ability to communicate clearly through messaging, email, and video meetings using Zoom or Microsoft Teams. * This is a fully remote position with flexible working hours. * Meetings will be scheduled in advance, and the contractor should expect to collaborate with our team approximately 2–4 times per week. * Candidates should be comfortable working independently, communicating progress, asking questions when needed, and collaborating with both technical and non-technical team members. Preferred Experience * Front-End Development: JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Next.js * Back-End & Full-Stack Development: Node.js, Python, PHP, Ruby on Rails * UI & CSS: HTML, CSS, Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap, responsive web design, and the ability to build and troubleshoot modern user interfaces * Databases: SQL, PostgreSQL, database design, and managed database platforms such as AWS RDS, DigitalOcean, Neon, and Supabase * Cloud & Managed Hosting: Experience deploying and managing production web applications using AWS, DigitalOcean, Cloudflare, Vercel, Netlify, Railway, Heroku, or similar platforms * Serverless & Infrastructure: Familiarity with technologies such as AWS Lambda, serverless applications, and managed cloud infrastructure * Development Tools: VS Code, Cursor, Antigravity, Git, GitHub, and modern development workflows * AI-Assisted Development: Hands-on experience using AI coding agents and development tools such as Cursor, OpenAI Codex, and Claude Code to build features, troubleshoot problems, review and improve code, and accelerate software development * Web Application Security: Working knowledge of basic application security, including conducting security reviews, managing secrets and environment variables, protecting API keys and credentials from exposure, preventing SQL/database injection, validating and sanitizing form and user inputs, reviewing dependencies and configurations, and using AI-assisted tools to identify potential security vulnerabilities Additional Experience Is a Plus * Linux and basic server administration * Docker and containerized applications * DNS, networking, SSL certificates, and domain configuration * CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments * Application monitoring, logging, and production troubleshooting * API development and third-party integrations * Experience managing applications across multiple cloud and hosting providers What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate is a builder and problem solver who is comfortable moving between front-end code, back-end systems, databases, infrastructure, and deployment. You should be able to troubleshoot a production issue, understand how the pieces of a modern web application fit together, and make sound technical decisions without requiring expertise in every technology we use. We are particularly interested in candidates who have embraced AI-assisted software development and understand how to effectively use and manage AI coding agents while maintaining good engineering, security, testing, and deployment practices. This position will begin as a part-time contract role, with the opportunity to grow into a larger or full-time role for the right person.
