Summary

Purpose: This document supports the recommendation to engage a specialist contractor or partner to fulfil SeeMe Media’s digital, website, hosting and frontend design function, rather than maintaining this capability as an ongoing internal role. Executive Summary SeeMe Media requires access to specialist skills across website development, hosting, DNS, analytics, SEO, WordPress, eCommerce, digital design and technical troubleshooting. These skills remain important for servicing existing clients, but they sit outside the company’s core advertising and media planning focus. A contractor model provides a practical framework for retaining access to this capability while reducing fixed overheads, improving flexibility, and allowing SeeMe Media to focus internal resources on core revenue-generating services. Recommended Model The recommended approach is to appoint an approved contractor or external partner on a flexible service agreement. The contractor would provide technical delivery and support on an as-needed basis, while SeeMe Media retains client ownership, strategic direction, account management and commercial oversight. Contractor Framework Framework Area Recommended Approach Engagement Type Flexible contractor or preferred supplier agreement, with work briefed and approved by project or support request. Scope of Work Website updates, hosting support, DNS management, WordPress maintenance, design support, analytics, SEO and technical troubleshooting. Governance SeeMe Media remains the client-facing lead and approves all briefs, timelines, estimates, quality checks and client communications. Commercial Model Hourly rate, retainer, project fee or referral fee structure depending on the nature of work and client relationship. Performance Measures Responsiveness, quality of delivery, client satisfaction, budget control, technical reliability and alignment with SeeMe Media standards. Key Benefits • Reduces fixed employment costs by only paying for specialist services when required. • Improves access to specialist expertise across fast-changing digital platforms, hosting environments and development tools. • Maintains service continuity for existing clients without requiring SeeMe Media to hold all technical capability internally. • Supports strategic focus by keeping internal effort aligned to advertising, media planning and client relationship management. • Creates scalability so digital support can increase or reduce according to client demand. Recommended Next Steps 1. Confirm the preferred operating model: contractor, agency partner, referral arrangement, or sale of existing contracts. 2. Define the minimum service scope required to support existing clients and active projects. 3. Assess potential partners, including Freedom Print, against capability, cost, responsiveness, client fit and governance requirements. 4. Prepare a service agreement covering confidentiality, response times, rates, ownership of work, client communication and quality standards. 5. Develop a transition and client communication plan to ensure continuity and protect SeeMe Media’s reputation.   Job Description Frontend developer / designer Experience with: • Domain name registration / DNS management o Register a domain o Add / Edit DNS records • Website Hosting (Not essential) o Manage website hosting via a Plesk server o Manage and edit hosting environment e.g. PHP versions, memory limits, caching, hosting packages, etc o Managing hosting via 3rd parties e.g. Hoopla, HostPapa, Crazy Domains, MyHost, GoDaddy • Websites Design & development… o Website design using Figma (ideally) or Adobe Photoshop o Understanding of good UI/UX o Conversion optimization, visual hierarchy, colour theory etc o SEO optimisation o High performing / mobile / speed optimised websites o Tracking and analytics o Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Search Console • Development of WordPress sites • Best practice for WP sites – security, caching, themes, backups, transferring + updating sites between dev and live servers  WooCommerce for eCommerce • Setting up stores – shipping, tax, payment gateways, product catalogues etc  Plugin selection and management – sparing use of plugins  Plugin development and/or ability to write PHP functions to extend WordPress functionality  Maintainable, scalable, flexible website design and build best practices i.e. Class based naming and styling (e.g. BEM methodology), CSS variables, Fluid typography etc  Ability to create bespoke themes / edit custom themes (i.e. not using a drag and drop GUI theme builder but HTML, PHP, CSS and javascript)  Experience with Theme builders – Primarily we use Bricks builder for new sites but manage sites using a wide range E.g.
