Senior Outbound Telephony Platform Engineer

We are seeking a senior, hands-on engineer to own the telephony layer of a high-volume, multi-tenant outbound Voice AI platform. ### Required production experience * Outbound platforms processing at least tens of thousands of calls daily * DID purchasing, provisioning, inventory, assignment, warm-up, rotation, cooldown, quarantine, and retirement * Per-DID, tenant, campaign, and carrier volume controls * ASR, ACD, CPS, concurrency, carrier-error, and reputation monitoring * CNAM, STIR/SHAKEN attestation, branded calling, and caller-identity integrity * Spam-label detection and remediation across TNS, First Orion, and Hiya * Direct carrier coordination, escalation, routing, and failover * TCPA/FCC compliance enforcement, including consent provenance, DNC suppression, calling windows, revocation, reassigned-number screening, attempt limits, and audit trails * Distributed queues, idempotent call intents, webhook deduplication, retries, backpressure, and kill switches * SIP, REST APIs, webhooks, and Python, Node.js, or Go Experience limited to small Twilio workflows, inbound bots, or prototype Voice AI deployments will not qualify. ### Responsibilities * Review the existing telephony architecture and identify launch risks * Design and implement the telephony control and execution planes * Define DID lifecycle, rotation, reputation, and remediation policies * Build compliance controls and auditable authorization decisions * Establish carrier-level observability, alerts, dashboards, and runbooks * Create load, failover, replay, and degradation tests * Work closely with an existing architect and backend engineer * Own telephony production readiness through launch Individual engineers only. We are looking for direct production ownership and verifiable evidence.
