Senior Data Scientist / Analytics Lead

## Title Senior Data Scientist / Analytics Lead (Python, SQL) for long-term work ## Description We have more data than answers. Product events, billing, and CRM data sit in BigQuery; dashboards exist in Looker but nobody fully trusts them. We want one senior person to own analytics end to end, from "what does leadership actually need to know" down to the SQL, the model, and the chart. What you'd own - Core metric definitions (activation, retention, revenue) that the whole team agrees on, and the models that keep them correct. - The hard questions: why churn moved last quarter, and whether the pricing test is really working. - Models where they earn their keep, starting with churn risk and forecasting. Simple and shipped beats clever and stuck. - Experiment design and readouts. You know when a p-value is lying to you. - Writing and presenting for non-technical leadership. Your charts should change decisions, and you should be able to say which decision. Must-haves - 6+ years in data science or analytics, including 2+ years owning an analytics function or a large slice of one. - Expert SQL. You've written the 200-line query and then rewritten it so a colleague could read it. - Python for analysis and modeling (pandas, scikit-learn or statsmodels). Notebooks for exploring; scripts or dbt models for anything that runs twice. - Experimentation and causal thinking: A/B test design, power calculations, and knowing when observational data can't answer the question. - Clear written communication. Most of your work will be read, not watched. - Warehouse and BI tool, or close equivalents. Nice to have - dbt, Airflow or similar orchestration. - You've been the only data person at a company and liked it.
