Python Developer Needed to Debug & Optimize Existing bulk.py Script I’m looking for an experienced Python developer to debug and optimize an existing Python script (bulk.py). This is an existing project. I am NOT looking for a rewrite. The goal is to identify the current issues, fix them properly, and preserve the existing workflow and interface. Current Issues The script currently has reliability and performance problems: * Some network connections fail during execution. * The script may attempt to use endpoints/proxies that are unavailable or unstable. * Failed connections can slow down or interrupt the overall process. * Concurrency and worker management need optimization. * Some workers may remain blocked or wait unnecessarily after connection failures. * Error handling, retries, and timeouts need improvement. * Performance becomes inconsistent when processing larger input lists. What I Need The developer should: * Review the existing bulk.py and identify the actual bottlenecks/issues. * Validate required connections/proxies before starting the main processing workflow. * Avoid assigning unavailable connections to active workers. * Improve concurrency and worker management. * Improve timeout, retry, and failure handling. * Reuse connections where technically appropriate instead of reconnecting unnecessarily. * Ensure one failed connection does not block other workers. * Maintain the existing input/output structure and general workflow. * Make targeted fixes rather than rebuilding the project. Required Experience You MUST have strong practical experience with: * Python * SMTP * Proxies and proxy management * Concurrent/parallel connections * Connection reuse * Retry and timeout strategies * Network debugging * Performance optimization of existing scripts Strong SMTP + proxy experience is particularly important for this task. Please do not apply if you only have general Python experience without understanding these areas. Time Requirement — Please Read Before Applying This is a focused debugging task, not a multi-day development project. For someone who genuinely understands Python, SMTP, proxies, concurrency, and network debugging, I estimate approximately 3–5 hours of work. If your proposal says you need 2–3 days just to investigate or complete the task, I will ignore the proposal. I need someone who can inspect the existing implementation, identify the problem quickly, implement the necessary fixes, and test the final result. Important I need someone who can actually read and debug the existing code, not simply generate replacement files with AI and repeatedly ask me to test unfinished versions. Please review the code first, understand the root cause, and make targeted changes. Do not rewrite the project. Keep the existing workflow and interface. The final version should be stable and ready for a proper end-to-end test. When applying, briefly explain your experience with Python + SMTP + proxies + concurrency and how soon you can start.
