I spent many years in the field of scientific research, so I have decades of experience in the creative process of taking an idea from conception to production. My specific deep learning expertise is in the fields of Deep Neural Networks, Computer Vision, and Natural Language Processing. I have obtained Upwork's Certification for Python Development (nearly all deep learning is done in Python) and obtained a Deep Learning Nanodegree from Udacity in 2017. I regularly create — and immensely enjoy creating — custom neural networks for my client's specialized problem domains!
Prior to my 10+ years in the field of Deep Learning, I have over 20 years of experience in coding and web development. I helped put myself through college with freelance web dev work, and gained more coding experience during my masters in quantum computing. In my professional career, I have 3 years of experience at Cerner, who leads the field in providing enterprise software solutions to hospitals, as well as 13 years of experience at the Stowers Institute for Medical Research, a world-class medical and cancer research facility. (***Cerner was recently bought by Oracle)
I very much enjoy collaborating with people from different business, scientific, artistic, civic, and cultural backgrounds. My fastest-paced coding projects have been working with multiple startup companies to get an MVP to market. My largest scale coding projects have been with hospitals of various sizes all over the country. My most complex coding projects have been in the scientific field, working with 20 independent research labs, and collaborating with other labs all over the world. I am accustomed to creating concrete development plans for technical projects within highly specialized fields.
I use Pytorch, Tensorflow, and Keras to train my Deep Neural Networks, and analyze the data using Python, Numpy, Pandas, Scikit Learn, Matplotlib, FiftyOne, etc… I am well versed in Python, Vue.js, Django, HTML, CSS, SQL, and Database design.
I have experience in Windows and Linux system administration, have built my own Ubuntu based web server from the ground up, and host and manage several websites. In the past, I have also been proficient in Java, and created several Android apps.
