Academic Book Layout Designer (Long Term Partnership)

We are looking for an experienced book layout designer to help format and design the interior pages of academic books. This is a long term opportunity for the right freelancer. Scope of Work • Convert manuscripts from Microsoft Word into professionally designed interior book layouts using Adobe InDesign. • Design and format all interior pages, including chapter openings, headings, body text, tables, figures, and other standard academic content. • Maintain a consistent layout throughout each book. • Cover design is not included in this project. Project Details • Books typically range from 200 to 500 pages. • Most chapters follow a similar layout structure, making formatting consistent across the book. • Turnaround time: 5 to 7 days per book. • Budget: $250 per book. Requirements • Prior experience designing book interiors in Adobe InDesign. • Strong attention to typography, readability, and layout consistency. • Ability to meet deadlines and communicate reliably. • Comfortable working as a long term collaborative partner rather than a one off contractor.
