Academic Thesis Editor – Urban Planning & Geography

We are seeking an experienced academic editor/tutor with a background in Urban Planning, Human Geography, to provide comprehensive editing and revision support for a Master’s dissertation. Key Responsibilities Three Rounds of Draft Revisions: Work closely with the student through three distinct drafts, providing continuous feedback, structural editing, and content polishing until the final submission. AI Content Reduction (Crucial): Actively rewrite and "humanize" sections to significantly lower the AI-generation percentage. Academic & Structural Polishing: Improve the logical flow, critical depth, and integration of qualitative interview data with theoretical frameworks (Spatial Justice, Right to the City, Environmental Gentrification, etc). Feedback Implementation: Ensure the text accurately addresses specific supervisor feedback (e.g., clear definitions of core concepts, geographical profiling, methodological clarity). Language & Style: Enhance academic tone, sentence structure, clarity, and ensure flawless grammar and terminology usage. Make sure the in-text citations and references are in correct style. Required Qualifications Educational Background: Master’s degree or PhD in Urban Planning, Human Geography, Urban Studies, Sociology, or a closely related field. Editing/Tutoring Experience: Proven track record of tutoring or editing Master’s level dissertations (10,000+ words). Turnitin AI Detection: Demonstrated ability to heavily edit and restructure text to reduce AI similarity scores without losing academic rigor. Communication: Excellent communication skills, prompt responsiveness, and ability to provide clear, actionable feedback via tracked changes and comments in Word. Project Scope & Timeline Total Word Count: Approx. 11,000 words. Work Style: Chapter-by-chapter review or full draft review with tracked changes and high-level feedback summary. Estimated Completion Date: about 2weeks for first drat revision
