Accessibility Specialist Needed: WCAG 2.1 AA Audit + Remediation for Clients (Ongoing Work Possible)
Worldwide
We're a digital marketing agency looking for an experienced accessibility specialist to audit and remediate a client website to WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. This is a one-site project to start, with potential for ongoing work. Our agency provides compliance and risk reduction services to small businesses, and we're looking to build a long-term relationship with a contractor who can deliver consistent, high-quality accessibility work across our client portfolio. Project scope (first site): * Comprehensive WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility audit (automated scan + manual review) will be provided * Detailed report of issues found, prioritized by severity * Remediation work — code-level fixes, alt text, ARIA labels, color contrast adjustments, keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, etc - will be provided (but follow up scans/audits will need to be done during/after your work) * Verification testing to confirm fixes don't introduce new issues * Final report documenting work completed and conformance level achieved * Recommendations for ongoing accessibility maintenance Site details: WordPress site, built on Divi theme Details will be provided to those chosen for further discussions. Required qualifications: * Demonstrated experience auditing and remediating WordPress sites to WCAG 2.1 AA * Manual review experience — not just running automated tool reports * Access to or experience with ongoing accessibility monitoring tools (Siteimprove, Level Access, AudioEye, accessiBe, UserWay, etc.) — we'd be interested in a monitoring solution we can include in our client offerings * Hands-on familiarity with assistive technology (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver) * Ability to provide code-level fixes (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP as needed) * Comfortable working directly in WordPress admin and theme files * Comfortable working with Divi and Elementor (expert level experience with ADA work on these platforms is strongly preferred) * Strong written communication for documentation and reporting Nice to have: * VPAT or ACR experience * IAAP certifications (CPACC, WAS) preferred * Experience working with agencies / white-label arrangements * Familiarity with ADA Title III and California Unruh Act context To apply, please include: * 1-3 examples of WCAG 2.1 AA audit and remediation work you've done (links or anonymized samples) * Your typical process for an audit + remediation project * Estimated cost and timeline for a single-site project of this scope (use a ~30 pages site as an example) * Whether you offer ongoing monitoring services, and pricing * Any relevant certifications If this first project goes well, we anticipate ongoing work across multiple client sites with potential for a long-term agency partnership.
