Accountant Needed for New Jersey LLC: Bookkeeping, Monthly Reporting, and Tax Coordination

I'm seeking an experienced accountant to serve as the sole accounting contact for my New Jersey LLC. This one-person business generates five-figure revenue monthly and is currently managed in QuickBooks. I want someone who can maintain accurate books, keep everything organized and tax-ready, and provide clear monthly financial insight so we understand how the business is performing. Responsibilities: • Maintain bookkeeping in QuickBooks. • Recommend whether cash basis or accrual basis is most appropriate for our business. • Provide a monthly reporting package, including a spreadsheet summary and supporting financial reports. • Help keep records clean, organized, and ready for tax preparation. • Serve as the primary accounting contact for the company. • Coordinate with tax preparers and support annual filings and returns as needed. • Offer proactive tax planning recommendations, including retirement contributions, deductions, and other legal tax-saving opportunities. What I'm looking for: • 5+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience. • Expert knowledge of New Jersey and federal tax requirements. • Experience with QuickBooks. • Ability to make practical recommendations, communicate clearly, and keep us compliant throughout the year. •An over-communicator who's proactive and responsive to communications Preferred: • Experience with NJ LLCs, S-Corp, and pass-through entities. • Familiarity with entity-level tax planning, including whether an S-corp election or NJ BAIT may be beneficial when appropriate. • CPA or EA preferred, but strong experience is also welcome. Deliverables: • Monthly bookkeeping updates. • Monthly financial reporting package. • Tax-ready books and organized records. • Ongoing accounting guidance and year-round compliance support.
