US Accounting & Sales Tax Advisor Needed This Week — Ongoing Support for a Small SaaS Company
Worldwide
Hi there, We're a small Canadian software company getting ready to serve customers in the United States, and we're looking for someone who knows US small-business accounting and sales tax well enough to be our go-to person for questions. This isn't an audit and it isn't a big scary project, and we're ready to start right away. We've built an accounting and inventory platform for small businesses, we've done our homework on the US side, and now we'd like an experienced set of eyes to tell us where we've got it right and where we're off. Think of it as being the accountant we call when we're not sure. What we'd like help with Sales tax questions — how registration, exemptions, and reporting work in practice for a small business Everyday accounting treatment — expenses, fixed assets, depreciation, the usual chart-of-accounts questions 1099s and other information returns, if that's in your wheelhouse Sanity-checking our assumptions and telling us plainly when something looks wrong How it would work We'd start small — a few hours to look things over and answer a first batch of questions — and go from there. You'd get a written summary of what we've built and a list of questions; you reply in whatever form suits you, written notes or a call. If it works well for both of us we'd love to keep you on as an ongoing resource. We're ready to start immediately and would love to have someone on board this week. We're flexible on hours and happy to work around your schedule — we just don't want to keep waiting. If you're available now, please say so in your reply and we'll move quickly. Who we're hoping to hear from A CPA, EA, or experienced accounting professional who works with US small businesses day to day. You don't need software or tech experience — we'll explain anything technical. What matters is that you can look at how a business's books and sales tax are set up and tell us whether it makes sense. A couple of practical notes Because we're pre-launch, we'd ask you to sign a simple one-page confidentiality agreement before we share materials. Nothing unusual — it's a standard mutual-respect document, and you keep your own workpapers as your professional standards require. To apply Just tell us a bit about the kind of small businesses you work with and what you enjoy about the sales tax side of things. No need for a formal proposal — we'd rather hear how you actually talk about this work. If you can start this week, please mention it up front — we're reviewing replies as they come in. Looking forward to meeting you!
