Adobe InDesign: Sequential Ticket Numbering for Print (Data Merge)
Worldwide
I am looking for an experienced Adobe InDesign specialist to prepare sequential numbering for printed tickets. Project: I already have the InDesign layout. Each sheet contains 12 tickets. The ticket numbers must NOT simply run left to right (1–12). Instead, the numbering must be prepared for print finishing. After printing, cutting and binding into books of 50 tickets, every booklet should contain perfectly sequential numbers. Numbering logic Example: There are 3000 tickets. 12 tickets fit on one press sheet. 3000 ÷ 12 = 250 sheets. Therefore every position on the sheet increases by 250. Example first sheet: Position 1 → 0001 Position 2 → 0251 Position 3 → 0501 Position 4 → 0751 ... Position 12 → 2751 Second sheet: 0002 0252 0502 0752 ... 2752 This continues until all tickets are numbered. Quantities Adult Saturday – 3000 tickets Adult Sunday – 3000 tickets Child Saturday – 1200 tickets Child Sunday – 1200 tickets For the children's tickets: 1200 tickets 12 tickets per sheet 100 press sheets Therefore the numbering increment is 100 instead of 250. Deliverables Updated InDesign files Print-ready PDF Correct sequential numbering for all four ticket versions Numbers formatted with leading zeros (0001, 0002, etc.) Please only apply if you have experience with InDesign Data Merge, variable numbering or print imposition. Important: This is not simple sequential numbering. The numbering must follow print imposition so that after cutting and stapling into books of 50, the tickets are in the correct numerical order.
