Advanced Shopify Developer Needed – High-Variant Product Architecture (2,000+ Variants)

Overview We are looking for a highly experienced Shopify developer to help solve a complex product variant issue for our custom furniture store. This is not a basic Shopify customization project. We need someone with deep knowledge of Shopify's newer high-variant architecture and experience building scalable product pages for highly configurable products. Background Our products are highly customizable and include options such as: Wood species Size Extension configuration Some products contain approximately 1,500 Shopify variants across only three option groups. Shopify allows products with up to 2,048 variants, but our current theme (Pandora 6.0.2) is not functioning correctly with products over approximately 250 variants. Our current developer has already: Modified the theme code Built a custom variant selector Attempted multiple approaches The issue remains unresolved because of Shopify's 250-variant limitation in the product.variants Liquid object. We are looking for someone who understands Shopify's recommended approach for high-variant products and can determine the best long-term architecture. What We Need We are looking for someone who can: Review our existing implementation Determine whether the issue can be solved without splitting products Implement Shopify's recommended high-variant product architecture if applicable Recommend the best long-term solution for scalability and performance Preserve SEO and customer experience whenever possible If splitting products is truly the best solution, we want guidance on the most logical product architecture rather than arbitrary variant groups. Required Experience Please apply only if you have experience with: Shopify Online Store 2.0 Shopify's new 2,048 variant support High-variant product implementations Liquid JavaScript / TypeScript Shopify product forms Variant selectors Shopify AJAX and Storefront APIs Furniture, configurable products, or complex product option experience is a significant plus.
