Aerospace CAD & Simulation Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical)

We are hiring an experienced CAD & Simulation Engineer for an 8-week contractor assignment supporting aerospace, mechanical, and electrical engineering projects. Aerospace experience is strongly preferred. Requirements: • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in CAD engineering and simulation-focused organizations; 10+ years is preferred. • Strong hands-on experience creating CAD models and performing simulation, analysis, and design validation. • Strong aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering fundamentals. • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering. A master’s is preferred; a PhD—especially in aerospace—is a major advantage. • Strong written and verbal communication, independent problem-solving, and technical documentation skills. • Candidates may be located worldwide. Key responsibilities: • Develop CAD models for aerospace, mechanical, and electrical components. • Perform FEA, CFD, thermal, structural, aerodynamic, or electrical simulation as applicable. • Validate and optimize designs using simulation results. • Translate technical requirements into models, analysis workflows, and documented engineering recommendations. • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and communicate methodologies, assumptions, and outcomes clearly. Relevant tools include: • Commercial: CATIA, SolidWorks, ANSYS, MATLAB, AutoCAD, Creo, Siemens NX. • Aerospace: OpenVSP, OpenRocket, XFoil, AVL, OpenFOAM/SU2, FreeCAD, Python. • Mechanical: FreeCAD, CalculiX, Gmsh, ParaView, Cura/PrusaSlicer. • Electrical: KiCad, ngspice, Qucs-S, Octave, FEMM, openEMS, Python. Engagement: • Start: Immediately. • Duration: 8 weeks. • Availability: 20, 30, or 40 hours per week. • For full-time engagement, at least four hours of overlap with Pacific Time are required. • Contractor assignment; no paid leave or medical benefits.
