After Effects Compositor — 11 Screen-Replacement Inserts + 2 Reflection Comps for Cinematic Reel
Worldwide
We're finishing a 70-second cinematic studio reel for Etéreo Creative Studio (Mexico City + Los Angeles). The reel is set inside a warm, tungsten-lit art-house cinema lobby. Above a marble counter hangs an illuminated 7-panel menu — each panel is a greenscreen ready to receive existing commercial footage. We need a sharp AE artist to integrate that footage into the panels with cinematic push-in / pull-out transitions, plus two specialty comp shots. SCOPE OF WORK Menu panel work — approximately 28 seconds of panel-replacement footage across 11 shots: - Corner pin tracking (Mocha AE or built-in tracker) onto greenscreen panels - Clean keying and fill of green panels - Lumetri + gamma matching to integrate inserted footage into the warm tungsten cinema environment (cream walls, brass details, low-key tungsten sconces) - Matched lens defocus and depth-of-field blur to plate - Zoom-in (push-in) and zoom-out (pull-out) transitions with proper directional motion blur as the camera moves into and out of each menu panel — must feel like a real lens move, NOT a digital scale ramp - Smooth sequential illumination — panels lighting up one at a time as referenced in script - Slight glow / bloom so panels read as internally lit, not pasted on Two specialty comp shots: - Reflection comp — commercial footage playing as a reflection in the polished counter glass between two characters. Requires perspective distortion, reduced opacity, slight glass-surface ripple/texture, and warm tungsten color grade match. - Eye light reflection — generated catchlight / light-source reflection on a CU to ECU eye shot. Must read as physical, not preset-driven. Reference: Roger Deakins-style catchlight. DELIVERABLES - ProRes 4444 or DNxHR HQX, 23.976fps - 16x9 horizontal from one source timeline - Layered AE project file, organized and labeled precomps - 2 rounds of revisions included REQUIRED EXPERIENCE - Mocha AE / corner pin tracking — must show reel - Demonstrable push-in / pull-out compositing with motion blur (not scale-ramped — true camera-feel moves) - Lumetri / Curves color matching - Comfortable matching defocus and grain to plate - Portfolio with screen-replacement or motion-tracked compositing VISUAL REFERENCE Wes Anderson lobby warmth meets Apparat "Goodbye" geometry. Roger Deakins-style tungsten realism. Cinematic, not glossy. TIMELINE 7-10 business days from start. PAYMENT $850USD fixed-price, milestone-based: - 30% on accepted v1 ($255) - 70% on final delivery ($595) SCREENING — please answer in your proposal: 1. Link to one project in your reel where you replaced a tracked screen with footage. Tell me what tool you used (Mocha, AE tracker, etc.). 2. Have you done push-in / pull-out moves on a tracked insert with motion blur? Link or describe. 3. Quick paragraph: how would you approach grading the inserted footage to match a warm tungsten cinema interior? 4. Confirm you can deliver in 7-10 business days.
