After Effects Template Conversion (16:9 → 9:16)

Summary Overview We have a single After Effects project file containing 38 existing video templates, currently built in 16:9 (landscape). We need an experienced AE artist to convert all 38 to 9:16 (vertical, 1080×1920px), intelligently re-laying out each composition for the new aspect ratio while preserving the project's underlying structure. These are generic, reusable templates used inside our own tool — they are not branded designs. Customers later adapt them to their own brand guidelines within the tool, so templates must stay clean and generic as-is. The conversion is purely about making them work beautifully at 9:16. Scope of Work Within the AE project, adjust all 38 compositions nested inside the All Blocks comp. For each composition: - Resize composition to 1080×1920px (9:16) from the current 16:9. - Propose and apply new layouts — reflow and reposition layers so each composition reads well in vertical format. We will review and approve your proposed layouts on a comp-by-comp basis before final build. - Adjust layers as needed to suit the new dimensions: images, shape layers, and video mattes (resize, reposition, recrop, re-scale). Must Preserve - Keyframe timings — animation timing must remain unchanged. - Layer names — must not be renamed or altered under any circumstances. These templates are data-driven; layers are swapped with customer data downstream in our tool, and the pipeline relies on exact layer names and structure staying intact. - Generic nature of the templates — no branding, no decorative additions; keep them as flexible, neutral templates. Deliverable - The single AE project file with all 38 compositions converted to 9:16, layouts approved, ready to share with prospects. Engagement - Fixed-price, full project. - Paid test task first: before awarding the full job, we'll commission 2–3 compositions as a paid test. If the approach and quality meet our standards, we proceed with the remaining comps. Ideal Candidate - Strong After Effects experience, specifically with template/comp structure and motion design. - Demonstrated eye for layout adaptation across aspect ratios (landscape → vertical). - Disciplined and detail-oriented — comfortable working inside an existing project structure without breaking naming or timing. - Able to propose layout options clearly for approval before building.
