AI Agent Developer for WhatsApp + Voice Call Automation

Developer — AI Emergency Response System ABOUT THE PROJECT We are Black Seguridad Privada, a private security company operating across Mexico City. We have an AI-powered emergency response system that monitors WhatsApp channels where our field guards report incidents. The system uses Claude AI to classify incident severity in real time and automatically alerts supervisors via WhatsApp and phone call. Our operations team manages incidents through a web dashboard with checklists, audit trails, and automated PDF reporting. The core system has been built. We are looking for a developer to take full ownership of the project going forward — ongoing development, maintenance, and new features. THE STACK Backend: Python 3.13 on Azure Functions Database: Azure SQL (SQL Server) AI: Anthropic Claude via Azure AI Foundry Messaging: Twilio (WhatsApp + SMS), Vapi (voice calls) Storage: Azure Blob Storage (PDF reports) Frontend: Next.js 14, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS Infra: Azure (Functions, SQL, Blob, Service Bus, App Insights) Full technical documentation and a complete codebase handover will be provided. You will be able to understand every part of the system from day one. WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING ON Immediate priorities: - Implement escalation timer firing (a scheduled function that checks overdue timers and re-escalates incidents automatically) - Production Twilio WhatsApp Business API setup (currently on Twilio sandbox) - Voice AI Integration Ongoing: - Bug fixes and improvements as we use the system in production - New dashboard features as our operational needs evolve - Performance and reliability improvements Longer term: - Guard support voice agent (Vapi) — responds to guard phone calls and routes to the correct internal department - Schedule-aware supervisor routing (alerts go to whoever is on shift at the time) - Mobile-optimised dashboard view WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Must have: - Python — comfortable reading and writing production Python - Azure or similar cloud — you understand Functions, managed SQL, blob storage - REST API development — you can add and maintain API endpoints independently - Debugging skills — comfortable reading logs and tracing errors across a multi-service system Nice to have: - Next.js / React - Twilio or similar messaging APIs - Azure Functions specifically - Spanish (our UI and internal communications are in Spanish) ENGAGEMENT DETAILS Type: Contract / freelance (ongoing retainer preferred) Communication: Spanish preferred; English is fine HOW TO APPLY Send a short message covering: 1.
