Agentic Systems Architect - Clinical Research SMO
Worldwide
The Mission: We are launching a national Clinical Research Site Management Organization (SMO) designed from day one to be AI-native. We are moving away from legacy spreadsheets and manual patient recruitment. We are building a tech-forward infrastructure that scales. The Role: As the Founding Operator, you are responsible for architecting the systems that power our clinical operations. You will sit at the intersection of clinical excellence and rapid automation. One day you’ll be mapping out SOPs for decentralized trials; the next, you’ll be "vibe-coding" a custom dashboard or prototyping an LLM-based patient screening workflow. What You’ll Do: System Architecture: Design the end-to-end operational "OS" for the SMO, from site feasibility to data lock. Rapid Prototyping: Build and deploy internal tools (using No-Code, AI coding assistants, or ClaudeCode/Cursor/Lovable/Replit) to automate repetitive clinical coordinator tasks. AI Integration: Implement AI-driven patient recruitment and automated regulatory filing workflows. Clinical Strategy: Ensure all automated systems remain 100% compliant with FDA, GCP, and HIPAA requirements. Billing A/R and A/P: build an automated system for billing sponsors in CRO and distributing site payments to hundreds of sites within the network. Who You Are: Industry Deep-Diver: You have 5+ years in the clinical research/SMO space. You know exactly where the friction is because you’ve lived it. The Builder: You don't wait for IT. You are "AI-native"—you use LLMs to write code, automate n8n loops, and build functional web apps to solve problems. Systems Thinker: You see the world in inputs, outputs, and bottlenecks. Articulate: You can translate complex clinical requirements into technical logic.
