# Sound Engineer / Sound Designer — Ambient Audio Library (Loops) ## About the work We're building a library of calming, ambient sound environments for an installed audio product (ceiling speakers driven by a wall display). The audio plays continuously in the background of homes, hotels, wellness spaces, and similar settings. We need a sound engineer to produce a set of high-quality, seamlessly looping ambient tracks across four listening categories. This is a fixed, well-defined deliverables job — you'll get a full track list and a short brief for each track once hired. ## What you'll create Ambient / nature-based soundscapes across four categories: - **Sleep** — steady, broad, gentle masking sounds (our biggest category) - **Focus** — calm, non-distracting background for concentration - **Relax** — brighter and cosier (e.g. fireplace, light rain, gentle birdsong) - **Recovery** — lower and slower wind-down sounds (e.g. deep ocean swell, waterfall — no bright, chirpy elements) The full list of individual tracks, and the specific character wanted for each, will be supplied to the person we hire. ## Technical requirements - **Format:** WAV, 48 kHz, 24-bit, stereo - **Seamless loops:** every track must loop with no audible seam, click, or fade at the loop point. It should be impossible to hear where the loop restarts. - **Loop length:** minimum 10 minutes per track (longer is better to avoid noticeable repetition) - **Consistent mastering:** all tracks matched to a consistent loudness across the whole library, with clean headroom and no clipping or harsh peaks (exact loudness/peak targets provided on brief) - **Clean audio:** no background hiss, hum, distortion, or unwanted artefacts - **File naming:** follow the naming convention we provide ## Not required (please don't propose these) - Binaural beats or "gamma"/frequency-based tones — out of scope - Plain noise colours (white, pink, brown, green) — we generate these separately, so no need to produce them ## Licensing — important All delivered audio must be either **fully original** or built from **properly licensed, royalty-free sources with full commercial rights**. We need a **full buyout / transfer of rights** so we can use the tracks commercially in our product with no ongoing royalties or attribution requirements. Please confirm you can provide this, and keep records of any source licences. ## Who we're looking for - Proven experience producing ambient, nature, or background/loop-based audio - Strong at seamless looping and consistent mastering across a set of tracks - Able to deliver clean, broadcast-quality WAV files - Clear communicator who can work from a written brief ## To apply, please include 1.
