Analytics Audit & Foundation Setup for B2B SaaS — Assess, Benchmark & Recommend

Description: We're an early-stage B2B SaaS company (AI/developer tools space) looking for an experienced analytics consultant to audit our current analytics setup, benchmark it against industry standards, and help us build the right measurement foundation. What we need: Assessment of our current setup — Review our existing tracking, tooling, and data flows (website, product, marketing channels). Identify gaps, redundancies, and anything set up incorrectly. Industry benchmarking — Compare our analytics setup and KPIs against what similar B2B SaaS companies at our stage measure, and tell us exactly what we need to add to close the gap. Foundation & tracking architecture — Validate (or redesign) our event taxonomy, conversion tracking, attribution setup, and tool stack so the foundation is solid before we scale spend and reporting on top of it. KPI dashboard — A single dashboard covering our core SaaS KPIs: acquisition (traffic, signups by channel), activation, conversion, retention/churn, and pipeline metrics. Built in a tool we can maintain ourselves (e.g., GA4 + Looker Studio, Mixpanel/Amplitude, or similar — open to your recommendation). Downloadable report format — A recurring report template (weekly/monthly) we can export and share internally with leadership. How we'd like to work: Start with a paid assessment phase: you review what we have, validate what's right and wrong, and benchmark our analytics setup and KPIs against industry standards for B2B SaaS companies at our stage. Your findings + recommendations document should cover: what's set up correctly, what's broken or missing, how our tracking and metrics compare to what similar SaaS companies measure, and a prioritized list of what we need to add to close the gap. Based on that, we'll scope the implementation phase (dashboard + reporting) with you. You should have: Proven experience setting up analytics for B2B SaaS (please share examples or case studies) Strong hands-on skills with GA4, GTM, and at least one product analytics tool (Mixpanel, Amplitude, PostHog, etc.) Familiarity with SaaS benchmark data and metrics standards (e.g., typical activation/conversion/churn benchmarks for early-stage B2B SaaS) so your recommendations are grounded in industry norms, not just best practices Ability to explain trade-offs clearly to a non-analytics team In your proposal, please include: A brief outline of how you'd approach the assessment and benchmarking 1–2 relevant examples of similar work Your quoted price for the assessment phase, and a rough estimate for full implementation Your estimated timeline
