2D Animator Needed for Short Horror Scene (10-15 Seconds)

Project Overview We are looking for a skilled 2D animator to create a high-quality, atmospheric short scary animation. The scene features a young boy attempting to hide from a scary monster in a bedroom. This is a brief 10–15 second animation intended to test your skills, creativity, and ability to build tension quickly. We need a talented creator who can ensure absolute visual consistency in character models and environments—something AI generators struggle to handle cleanly. Visual Style & Creative Direction The exact artistic direction and quality level we are aiming for is a clean, graphic, 2D indie-comic/animated style. Style Reference: For the visual direction and graphic quality, please refer to the attached reference file. Creative Freedom (Monster Design): We want to see your creativity! You are completely free to design the monster yourself and decide how it looks, as long as its style matches the overall scene graphics and aesthetic of the reference image. Character Acting: We are looking for an animator who can bring high-quality character acting to the project, specifically delivering expressive facial expressions for the terrified boy and tense, deliberate character movements that build genuine suspense. Consistency: The character’s appearance, clothing, and the background details must remain strictly consistent throughout the duration of the clip. Key Responsibilities Animate a 10–15 second horror sequence based on the premise of a boy hiding from a custom-designed monster. Implement suspenseful camera framing, slow reveals, or shadow work to build maximum tension in a short timeframe. Deliver the final video in 1080p or 4K resolution at 24 FPS. Requirements & Qualifications Proven experience in 2D animation (frame-by-frame, rigging, or a hybrid approach that yields smooth, clean results). A portfolio demonstrating your ability to match specific art styles and design original creatures/characters. Excellent communication skills and openness to feedback. A successful execution of this job will lead to more regular opportunities in the near future.
