Architect for Mid-Rise Masonry Building

We are seeking an experienced architect to revise and enhance an existing set of architectural drawings for a mid-rise masonry building. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience designing masonry structures and producing high-quality construction documents. Scope of Services: The selected architect will be responsible for: • Reviewing the existing architectural plans and incorporating the client's comments and requested revisions. Most revisions have already been identified and sketched, requiring refinement and integration into the drawing set. • Enhancing the building's exterior appearance while maintaining consistency with the overall design intent and project requirements. • Coordinating the architectural drawings with the structural design to produce a well-integrated and complete construction document set. This includes incorporating structural information provided by the structural engineer where appropriate to improve drawing clarity and coordination. • Developing additional architectural details necessary for construction, including but not limited to: o Detailed stair plans and sections with riser and tread dimensions. o Enlarged plans and sections for critical building components. o Wall sections and construction details. o Other architectural details that could be necessary to minimize requests for information (RFIs) during construction. • Reviewing the overall drawing package for completeness, constructability, and consistency to help ensure it is suitable for construction. Qualifications The ideal candidate should have: • Significant experience in architectural design for mid-rise masonry buildings. • Proven experience in preparing construction drawing sets. • Strong knowledge of masonry construction methods, detailing, and applicable building codes. • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce clear, accurate, and construction-ready drawings. The objective is to deliver a coordinated, comprehensive, and constructible set of architectural drawings that accurately reflects the client's requested revisions while improving the quality and completeness of the construction documents. The completed sets are needed within few days, before mid-week this new week.
