3D Architectural Renderer & Walkthrough Animator — Modern Container Home

Posted 2 weeks ago

Summary

PadDwell, LLC is a housing startup building modern shipping-container homes for workforce housing. Our flagship is the PD-40D "Duo" — a 40-foot container that becomes two private studios, each with a full kitchen, full bath, and an optional sleeping loft. A single-studio version, the "Uno," is next in our pipeline. We're looking for a talented 3D architectural visualization artist to build photorealistic marketing renders and a video walkthrough of the unit FROM our CAD and Revit drawings. These will be used in investor presentations, city/permitting meetings, and our website and marketing — so quality, realism, and clean styling matter. Important — two requirements: 1) You must build the renders FROM our CAD/Revit drawings yourself: importing the drawings/model, cleaning up and completing the geometry, and applying materials and lighting. We provide accurate drawings and a working model, NOT a finished, render-ready scene. If you can only render a scene that's already built for you, this is not the right fit. 2) Dimensions must be exact. Everything must be built to scale and dimensionally exact to our drawings — no approximations — including room sizes, ceiling heights, window and door dimensions, and overall footprint. Each studio is compact (~160 sq ft), so conveying the true sense of scale is critical: please use realistic focal lengths and avoid wide-angle distortion that makes the space look larger than it is. These renders and the walkthrough support city/permitting and investor conversations, so the space must be represented honestly, not stylized or exaggerated. This is rendering and animation work, not drafting or engineering. Our CAD, MEP, and structural work is already covered. Please apply only if architectural visualization is your specialty. Scope of work (deliverables): - Exterior render set — the Duo on a residential/landscaped lot. Multiple angles (front 3/4, both sides, rear) plus a hero marketing shot. Matte-black corrugated-steel exterior, covered entry, full-height picture windows, clean modern styling (we'll share a concept image for the look and feel). - Interior render set — kitchen (a couple of angles), full bathroom, the sleeping loft, the under-loft living area, and an entry-door view looking in. Finishes should match our spec (we'll provide the finish/material schedule). - Walkthrough video — a smooth, true-to-scale animated flythrough of the exterior and interior, suitable for an investor or city presentation. Please quote this as its own milestone and note the length/format options. - Next phase — the same set for the single-studio "Uno" variant, once its design is finalized. What we provide (your source material to build from): - Our CAD and Revit drawings: Revit source, .dwg / .dxf, a .dae 3D model, floor plans, and our full architectural/MEP drawing package (PDF). - Finish and material schedules so the renders are accurate, not generic. - A concept exterior image for style reference. - Responsive communication. Who we want to hear from: - Architectural / product-visualization artists with a strong photorealistic portfolio (residential, ADU, tiny-home, or modular experience is a big plus). - Able to build a renderable 3D scene directly from CAD/Revit drawings, to exact scale, and match a specified material palette. - Experienced rendering compact / small spaces honestly (no wide-angle exaggeration). - Able to deliver both still renders and a polished walkthrough video. - Native or near-native English. Please do NOT apply if you are a CAD drafter, BIM modeler, or engineer — that side is covered. We have an immediate need for the exterior stills, so please tell us your soonest availability for a first exterior render. In your proposal, please include: 1. Your portfolio (ideally photorealistic exteriors, interiors, and at least one walkthrough video — small-space interiors a plus). 2. Confirmation that you can build renders directly from CAD/Revit drawings to exact scale, and how you keep small spaces true to size (your focal length / field-of-view approach). Include the software/render engine you'll use (e.g., 3ds Max + V-Ray/Corona, Lumion, Twinmotion, Blender). 3. Your soonest start and turnaround for a first exterior render. 4. Your proposed price, broken out by milestone (exterior set / interior set / walkthrough video). 5. Any clarifying questions about the scope. Looking forward to seeing your work. — Yaji Tramontini, Co-Principal, PadDwell, LLC
