Summary

Most law firms train you to give legal answers. We expect you to give business solutions. We’re a boutique New York business-law firm acting as outside general counsel to companies that need real-world judgment—not theoretical advice. Our clients don’t hire us for memos. They hire us to help them make decisions. This is not a traditional junior associate role. You will work directly with clients—founders, executives, operators—as a trusted advisor helping them navigate real business issues across: Corporate and corporate finance Employment law and employee relations Intellectual property and trademarks Regulatory and compliance Occasional litigation (when necessary, not by default) You won’t be buried in research. You’ll be expected to think, communicate, and advise. Translate legal issues into clear, practical business guidance Draft and negotiate contracts that get deals done (not delayed) Advise clients in real time on day-to-day decisions Work across multiple practice areas (not siloed) Build relationships that evolve into long-term client trust Contribute to (and eventually originate) client revenue What We’re Looking For You think like a business person first, lawyer second You communicate clearly (no jargon, no hiding behind complexity) You’re comfortable with ownership and ambiguity You want early client exposure—not in 5 years You’re curious across multiple areas of law You’re collaborative and actually enjoy working as part of a team Preferred Attributes Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort operating in a small, resource-efficient environment. Ability to work as a team- We really mean that. You could be someone who has passed the bar and is awaiting admission Strong business acumen and ability to collaborate with non‑legal leadership. Practical, solution-oriented approach rather than academic legalism. Good communication skills
