U.S. Attorney – Ongoing Trademark, Design & Patent Filing Work – $3,000+/Month Initially
Worldwide
We are looking for a U.S.-licensed attorney to support an established U.S.-based global online IP filing business with its growing volume of USPTO work. This is intended to be a long-term, ongoing relationship, with an existing and consistent workload from the outset. Existing Workload & Growth The client currently handles approximately 100 new U.S. filings per month, with the majority being trademarks together with a smaller number of design and utility patent applications. Based on the current workload, the engagement should provide slightly over $3,000 per month initially. More importantly, the business is currently in a significant growth phase, with an aggressive international marketing strategy underway. We expect trademark volumes to continue increasing and, particularly, expect U.S. design and utility patent filings to grow substantially over the next 12 months. We are therefore looking for someone who would like to get involved at this relatively early stage and grow with the business. Streamlined Workflow The attorney will be supported by an experienced IP paralegal, who will prepare and upload the necessary filing information and documentation for attorney review. The attorney's role is principally to review the prepared submission, request any necessary corrections, and approve and sign the USPTO filing. All USPTO official fees will be funded by the client. There is no requirement for routine client reporting or docketing of USPTO correspondence. Filing Fees U.S. Trademark Application – $30 per filing U.S. Design Patent Application – $50 per filing U.S. Utility Patent Application – $120 per filing There is additional remuneration for subsequent work arising during the application and prosecution process. Although the individual filing fees are relatively modest, the attraction of the role is the consistent volume, streamlined workflow and recurring monthly income, without the need to find or manage the underlying clients. Who We Are Looking For We would ideally like to find one dependable attorney who can handle the client's complete U.S. filing stream and develop a long-term relationship with us as volumes increase. Because the work includes utility and design patent applications, USPTO patent-bar registration is required, together with current U.S. attorney licensure and good standing. This could be particularly attractive to a solo practitioner or attorney looking for a reliable source of supplemental remote income that can fit alongside an existing practice. If interested, please simply send us a brief message confirming your U.S. bar admission and USPTO registration number. We would be happy to arrange a short informal call to explain the opportunity and workflow in more detail.
