Location: Remote (Philadelphia-based or familiarity with the Philadelphia Audio-Visual market a plus) Program dates: Curriculum must support an 8-week cohort running daily, 8:00 am–3:00 pm, with a 1-hour lunch and 2 15-minute breaks. About the Program OIC Philadelphia, a 62-year-old legacy workforce development nonprofit, is launching a new Audio-Visual Technician training program designed to place adult learners into entry-level AV, broadcast, and production assistant roles throughout the Philadelphia region. We're seeking an experienced AV professional to design a complete, ready-to-teach 8-week curriculum grounded in current industry practice. What You'll Deliver: A full 8-week curriculum (Monday–Friday, 8:00am–3:00pm daily schedule) with weekly themes, daily lesson plans, and hour-by-hour session outlines Hands-on skills training - covering signal flow, cabling, microphones and mixers, live sound, cameras, switching, lighting, and studio/broadcast workflow; minimum 60% of program time must be hands-on/practical, not lecture-based Practical exercises and simulated projects, including a corporate-event-style production simulation and a capstone/portfolio project in the final week Assessment tools: skills checklists, rubrics, and knowledge checks tied to each week's learning objectives Equipment and software list needed to run each module (cameras, mixers, video switchers, lighting kits, DAWs, editing software, etc.), scaled for a classroom/lab setting Credentialing recommendation: guidance on 1–2 industry-recognized credentials (e.g., basic AV/CTS-adjacent certification) that can be embedded into the curriculum Career-readiness component for the final week: resume support, mock interviews, and employer exposure/portfolio review activities Ideal Candidate - Minimum 3 years, hands-on professional Audio Visual experience - audio engineering, video production, live event production, broadcast, or A/V systems integration (this is not a role for someone with only classroom or theoretical background) - Prior experience teaching, training, or mentoring -post-secondary, vocational, or corporate training settings preferred - Experience designing curriculum or training materials for adult learners, ideally in a workforce development, career-training, or bootcamp context - Understanding of entry-level AV job requirements (corporate AV vendors, hotels/event venues, broadcast studios) - this curriculum must map directly to real, current hiring needs - Strong written communication skills; ability to translate technical AV concepts into accessible, sequenced learning content - Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Video Production, Digital Media, or related field preferred; Scope & Timeline - Deliverables due on a mutually agreed schedule, with an initial weekly lesson-plan-and-schedule draft expected within the first 2–3 weeks of the contract - Willingness to incorporate feedback from OIC program staff and revise based on employer-partner input - Please include in your proposal: relevant AV project or teaching samples, your approach to structuring hands-on vs. lecture time, and your estimated timeline to complete all deliverables To Apply Please share examples of curriculum, training materials, or lesson plans you've developed, along with a brief summary of your hands-on AV background.
