Audiobook Post-Production Specialist Needed

Summary

Most of the prep work on this project is already done. I'm looking for one person to take it the rest of the way. I'm an author with a finished 179,100-word nonfiction book, 41 chapters, going to audiobook. The narration is my own voice, digitally produced from my own recordings in my own licensed account. I am not looking for a narrator. I need an audio professional to take the narration files and turn them into a finished, published audiobook. IMPORTANT — READ THIS BEFORE YOU QUOTE This is not a live booth recording, and it is not a restoration job. There is no room tone, no reverb, no mouth noise, no plosives, no clothing rustle, no mic-distance variation, and no session-to-session inconsistency. Those problems do not exist in this source. The work is different. Expect occasional digital artifacts, clipped word starts, abrupt transitions, and passages that land flat or rushed and need re-cutting. And expect pronunciation errors — the book carries Latin, Greek, KJV scripture, court case names, and statute citations, and that is where the real effort goes. If you quote this as a dereverberation and noise-restoration project, you have misunderstood the job and your number will be wrong. WHAT YOU RECEIVE ON DAY ONE Narration audio for the full book, all 41 chapters A finished narration script, 179,100 words, already cleaned and formatted for audio 57 pre-split chapter text files matched to the audio A 53-entry pronunciation reference (Latin, Greek, KJV scripture, legal case names, statute citation formats) A full change log of every edit made to the manuscript for the audio edition Cover art source file, credits copy, and all retail platform accounts in my name Tables have already been rewritten as spoken passages. Figures have been replaced with verbal descriptions. Front matter is trimmed, roman numerals expanded, URLs written out phonetically. The week that usually gets eaten by prep is already spent. SCOPE OF WORK Review before you begin. Go through the narration script against the print book and confirm the prep holds up. Eight passages were rewritten from tables and figures into spoken form — tell me whether they read naturally out loud, and flag anything you would word differently. Same for the pronunciation reference: tell me what is missing or wrong. I want your professional judgment here, not blind acceptance. Assess the source audio. Listen to a representative sample and tell me honestly whether the quality carries a 20-hour book, or whether I should rebuild the source before we commit to full production. I would rather spend the money up front than find the problem in chapter 30. Your call carries weight. Edit all 41 chapters plus front and back matter — clean up artifacts, fix pacing, smooth transitions. Proof. Listen to the full book against the text, catching every misread and mispronunciation. Deliver a timestamped error log for my review before corrections are made. This is the part I care most about — the book carries Latin, Greek, KJV scripture, court case names, and statute citations, and I am not willing to have those wrong. Master to retail spec: -23 to -18 dB RMS, peak no higher than -3 dB, noise floor below -60 dB. MP3 192 kbps CBR / 44.1 kHz, one file per chapter, correct head and tail silence, plus archival WAVs. Assemble opening and closing credits (copy supplied) and cut a 1-5 minute retail sample. Adapt my existing book cover into a 3000 x 3000 pixel square audiobook cover. Upload with full metadata to Spotify for Authors, Google Play Books, and Kobo Writing Life, plus one wide aggregator for library and long-tail retail. All accounts are mine. Estimated 17+ finished hours of audio. Please quote your rate per finished hour alongside a fixed total. I'll confirm exact runtime before we start.
