AutoCAD Drafter — Ongoing Architectural Drawing Revisions (UK Residential Projects)

We are a property development company based in the UK working on high-end HMO (Houses in Multiple Occupation) conversions and residential refurbishment projects. We are looking for a reliable, experienced AutoCAD drafter to join us on an ongoing basis for drawing revisions across our live projects. This is not a design role. The original architect produces the initial drawings. Our job is to ensure those drawings stay accurate and up to date as work progresses on site. WHAT THE WORK INVOLVES: - Receiving original DWG files and PDFs produced by the architect - Receiving annotated mark-ups from our site team (photographs of hand-annotated prints or marked-up PDFs) - Updating floor plans, layouts, dimensions, and M&E positions accurately based on our annotations - Ensuring changes are reflected across all relevant drawings (plans, elevations, sections as required) - Returning the revised DWG file and a clean, clear PDF with each revision - Maintaining version control with clear revision suffixes (e.g. Rev03) and revision clouds where appropriate WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU: - Fast turnaround: same day for urgent revisions, within 24 hours for standard changes - Clear, responsive communication — you must be available to respond during UK working hours (Monday–Friday, at least 09:00–17:00 GMT) - Accuracy — you must follow our annotations precisely and not redesign or reinterpret anything unless asked - Attention to detail — if a change to a plan affects a section or elevation, you must update that drawing too - Good written English — we need to be able to brief you clearly via message without constant back-and-forth - Ability to work with AutoCAD DWG files natively (not a conversion or redraw service) WHAT WE WILL PROVIDE: - Original DWG files and PDFs from the architect - Clear annotated mark-ups showing exactly what needs to change - A shared folder (SharePoint/OneDrive) for file exchange - Quick responses to any questions you have about the brief EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR: - Proven experience drafting residential floor plans and layouts in AutoCAD - Understanding of standard drawing conventions (revision clouds, title blocks, drawing scales, layer management) - Familiarity with M&E (mechanical and electrical) drawing notation is useful but not essential - UK residential construction knowledge is helpful but not required — the technical design will already have been completed by the architect TO APPLY, PLEASE: 1. Describe how you would handle a revision where you are unsure what the annotation means 4.
