AutoCAD Millwork Draftsman / Shop Drawings Specialist

AutoCAD Millwork Draftsman / Shop Drawings Specialist Villas Construction & Remodeling is seeking an experienced Millwork Draftsman to convert architectural and interior design drawings into detailed, fabrication-ready shop drawings for custom cabinetry and millwork projects. Position Overview You will work closely with our designers, project managers, and production team to develop accurate shop drawings that move projects efficiently from concept through fabrication and installation. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in custom cabinetry, millwork detailing, CNC manufacturing requirements, and 3D visualization. Responsibilities ● Convert architectural and interior design drawings into complete millwork shop drawings. ● Produce detailed plans, elevations, sections, details, and fabrication drawings for custom cabinetry and built-in millwork. ● Develop detailed cabinetry layouts for kitchens, bathrooms, closets, entertainment centers, wall units, and specialty millwork. ● Specify all dimensions, materials, finishes, edge treatments, hardware, and installation requirements. ● Coordinate with designers and project managers to incorporate revisions and client feedback. ● Follow company CAD standards for layers, blocks, annotations, and lineweights. ● Review drawings for accuracy, constructability, and manufacturing efficiency. ● Prepare material takeoffs, BOQs, and cutting lists when required. ● Create 3D renderings for client presentations and design approvals. ● Generate files compatible with CNC manufacturing processes. Required Qualifications ● Minimum 3–5 years of experience producing millwork and cabinetry shop drawings. ● Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD. ● Strong understanding of custom cabinetry construction and millwork fabrication. ● Ability to read and interpret architectural, interior design, and construction drawings. ● Knowledge of: ● Plywood, MDF, laminates, veneers, and solid wood construction ● Cabinet joinery and assembly methods ● Hinges, drawer slides, specialty hardware, and accessories ● Residential and commercial millwork standards ● CNC manufacturing requirements Preferred Qualifications ● Experience with Microvellum, Cabinet Vision, Mozaik, or similar millwork software. ● Ability to generate files compatible with Biesse CNC machines and other CNC manufacturing systems. ● Experience exporting and coordinating production-ready files for fabrication. ● Experience creating cut lists, nesting layouts, and production documentation. ● Proficiency in SketchUp, Enscape, Lumion, 3ds Max, or similar rendering software. ● Experience working directly with interior designers, architects, cabinet shops, and production teams.
