AI Automation Developer (Freelance, 20+ hrs/week) – n8n / Make + AI Integration

About us We're an automation and AI consultancy based in Munich, Germany. We build real, production-ready automation and AI systems for a growing client base across different industries. We work fully remote and value clean, reliable work over flashy demos. The role We're looking for an experienced freelance developer to build and maintain automation workflows and AI-powered systems on a part-time basis of 20+ hours per week. You'll turn requirements into robust, maintainable solutions and bring AI in where it actually adds value. No client communication required. We have dedicated IT project managers on our internal team who handle all client contact and pass requirements to you — so you can fully focus on building. This starts as project-based freelance work, but we're genuinely looking for long-term collaborators we can grow with. What you bring - Automation platforms (required): Strong hands-on experience with n8n is our top priority — we're moving everything toward n8n going forward. Solid Make.com experience is important too. Zapier knowledge is a plus but not essential. - API skills (required): Comfortable working directly with REST APIs. When an automation tool doesn't offer a native integration, you can build the connection yourself via API calls (auth, requests, parsing responses, webhooks). - AI integration: You know how to embed AI into workflows (LLM API calls, classification, RAG, agents) and have worked with tools like Claude / Claude Code or Codex - Tool experience (nice to have): Airtable, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, HubSpot — you don't need all of them, but you should pick up new tools quickly - Language: Fluent in German or English (written and spoken) - Availability: 20+ hours per week, working independently across time zones - Work style: Reliable, communicative, detail-oriented, with proper error handling in mind What we offer - Steady, varied automation projects - A clear path from freelance work to a long-term partnership — for the right person, we're open to a permanent role - Full-time possible based on strong performance - Direct communication with our internal project managers, fast decisions - Modern tech stack and up-to-date AI tooling
