QA Automation Engineer (Web + Mobile) — German Language Required — Balkans Only

We're looking for an experienced QA Automation Engineer based in the Balkans (Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, North Macedonia, Montenegro) to join a newly formed co-delivery team supporting a major digital financial services platform, on a long-term engagement. Important: Professional working proficiency in German (B2/C1 or higher) is a strict requirement. You will communicate directly with German-speaking client teams — daily syncs, workshops, requirements, and documentation are in German. Applications without demonstrable German skills will not be considered. The platform operates in a highly regulated banking and financial services environment, so precision, compliance awareness, and full traceability of quality metrics are essential. What you'll do: Stabilize and expand the client's existing Cypress test automation framework Build and maintain automated API, Mobile E2E, and Contract tests across a microservices architecture Write and execute test plans, test cases, and regression suites with full traceability Report and track bugs clearly in German and English Work alongside the client's core product squads (co-delivery model) and contribute to a structured, scalable QA and reporting framework Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) Actively participate in knowledge transfer as the QA framework matures Tech stack you'll work with: Testing: Cypress, BrowserStack, REST-Assured Backend & Frontend: Java / Spring Boot, Node.js, Angular, Flutter (mobile) Cloud & CI/CD: AWS, GitHub Actions Required skills & experience: 3+ years in QA automation for web and mobile Hands-on Cypress experience (must-have — you'll be working in an existing Cypress codebase from day one) Solid API testing skills (REST-Assured, Postman, or similar) Mobile E2E testing experience (Flutter apps a strong plus) Experience integrating tests into CI/CD (GitHub Actions preferred; GitLab CI or Jenkins also relevant) German language: B2/C1 minimum — spoken and written (must-have, will be verified in the interview) English: professional working proficiency Based in the Balkans region (time zone CET/CEST ±1) Nice to have: Experience in banking, fintech, or other regulated environments Contract testing experience (Pact or similar) ISTQB certification Test management tools (Jira/Xray, TestRail) Performance testing (JMeter or similar) Engagement details: Long-term, multi-phase implementation program (30–40 hrs/week, negotiable) Remote, but must be located in the Balkans Start: as soon as possible To apply, please include: Your German proficiency level and how you acquired it (certificates welcome) A short summary of your hands-on Cypress experience (projects, scope, duration) Links or examples of automation frameworks/projects you've built Applications that skip the German cover letter will be automatically declined.
