QA Automation Specialist for Marketplace Platform

We are looking for an experienced QA Automation Specialist to review and improve the test coverage of a marketplace web platform that was built quickly using AI-assisted development. The platform already has working functionality, but we need a QA expert to assess the current quality risks, propose a minimal but effective test automation strategy, implement the most important tests, and set up a CI/CD pipeline to run them automatically. This is not a request for a large enterprise QA process. We need a practical, lightweight solution that gives us confidence in the most critical user flows. Responsibilities You will be responsible for: Reviewing the existing application and identifying the most important quality risks Auditing current test coverage Proposing a minimal test automation strategy focused on high-value areas Defining which tests should be unit, API, integration, or end-to-end tests Implementing automated tests for the most critical marketplace flows Setting up a CI/CD pipeline to run the tests automatically Adding clear documentation on how to run and maintain the tests Providing recommendations for future QA improvements without overengineering the process Expected Deliverables Short QA audit / test coverage review Minimal test automation plan Implemented automated tests for critical flows CI/CD pipeline configuration Documentation for running tests locally and in CI Recommendations for next steps Required Skills Strong experience with QA automation for web applications Ability to design pragmatic test strategies for fast-moving projects Experience with API testing and end-to-end testing Experience with tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, REST Assured, Postman/Newman, or similar Experience setting up tests in CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar Good understanding of regression testing and test coverage prioritization Ability to work independently and communicate risks clearly Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who can look at an existing product, quickly understand the main business risks, and build a practical QA safety net around it. We do not need hundreds of tests. We need the right tests: the ones that protect the most important flows and can be reliably run in CI/CD. Preferably located in the CET time zone or within a nearby time zone to ensure good working-hour overlap and smooth communication. Russian speaking. Project Goal The goal of this project is to move from “it seems to work” to a basic but reliable quality process where important functionality is automatically checked before changes are released.
