Automotive OBD/UDS PID Database Research
Worldwide
**Title:** Automotive OBD/UDS PID Database Research for Israel-Market Vehicles We are looking for an automotive diagnostics specialist to research and build a structured database of OBD-II, enhanced OBD, UDS, and manufacturer-specific PIDs/DIDs for vehicles commonly found in Israel. The goal is to collect validated diagnostic query information by brand, model, year, engine/fuel type, and ECU where applicable. We are especially interested in practical, testable diagnostic data identifiers, not only generic OBD-II lists copied from the internet. **Target market:** Israel passenger vehicles **Vehicle priority:** popular brands and models in Israel, including Toyota, Hyundai, Kia, Chery, Skoda, Omoda/Jaecoo, BYD, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Nissan, Renault/Dacia, Peugeot/Citroën, Volkswagen, Mercedes, BMW, Tesla, and other common brands. **Required deliverables:** 1. A structured spreadsheet/database containing: * Brand * Model * Model year range * Engine / fuel type / hybrid / EV where relevant * ECU/module name * Protocol, for example CAN, ISO 15765, KWP2000, UDS, etc. * OBD service/mode, for example 01, 09, 21, 22, 2E, etc. * PID/DID/local identifier * Required CAN header / request ID / response ID where applicable * Request command * Expected response format * Formula / decoding logic * Unit * Data type * Known limitations * Source of information * Confidence level * Whether it was tested on a real vehicle, simulator, scan tool, database, or documentation 2. Separate coverage for: * Standard OBD-II PIDs * Manufacturer-specific/enhanced PIDs * UDS DIDs * Vehicle information data * ECU/module identification data * Service/maintenance data where available * Instrument cluster/body/telematics-related data where available 3. Evidence for each entry: * Public source, workshop manual, diagnostic software reference, scan-tool output, CAN log, or real-vehicle validation * Please mark unverified items clearly as “unverified” 4. Final output format: * Excel/CSV * Optional JSON format * Short documentation explaining how to use the database and how reliable each source is **Important requirements:** * Do not submit generic OBD-II PID lists only. * Do not invent formulas or identifiers. * Mark unsupported, unknown, or unverified items clearly. * Prioritize vehicles actually common in Israel. * Include model-year differences where known. * Include both ICE, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and EV vehicles where relevant. * Work must be legal and based on authorized diagnostic research, documentation, public references, owned/authorized vehicles, or legitimate diagnostic tools. **Ideal freelancer:** * Experience with OBD-II, ELM327, CAN bus, UDS, ISO 15765, ISO 14229, KWP2000, J1979, diagnostic scan tools, or automotive reverse engineering * Familiarity with Toyota, Hyundai/Kia, VW/Skoda, Chinese brands, Japanese brands, and European vehicles * Ability to provide real examples and not just theoretical information **Application questions:** 1. What experience do you have with OBD-II, UDS, enhanced PIDs, or CAN diagnostics? 2. Which brands have you personally worked with? 3. Can you provide a small sample of your expected output format? 4. How do you validate that a PID/DID is correct? 5. Do you have access to diagnostic databases, scan tools, CAN logs, or real vehicles? 6. How would you handle unsupported or model-specific data?
