Back-End Developer (Rails/PostgreSQL) Who Builds With Claude Code

Back-End Developer (Rails/PostgreSQL) We deliver managed services for clients on the Neyo platform, an AI-native commercial automation platform, building and maintaining the production systems behind their operations. Almost everything we ship is built with Claude Code as part of a spec-driven, AI-assisted workflow. We're growing the small team of developers we work with regularly, and this is the back-end seat, the one where how you think about systems matters most. You'll work on Rails backends that have to hold up as they scale across many clients and high volume. We care about clean data models and decisions that don't come back to bite us later, so we're looking for someone who thinks about why something will or won't scale, not just whether it runs today. You'll work closely with our front-end developer and delivery lead. This is a strong fit for a capable early-career developer who writes solid back-end code, uses AI tools as part of how they work, and wants to grow into harder problems with a team that invests in its people. What you'll work on: - Production Rails backends (Ruby, PostgreSQL with heavy JSONB, Sidekiq, Redis) - API design, data modeling, and integrations - Systems built to scale across many clients and high event volume - AI-powered features using the Claude API - Close collaboration with the front-end developer and delivery lead What we're looking for: - Real Rails or comparable back-end work you can show us - An instinct for scale: you think about how systems behave under load, not just whether they work - Comfort building with Claude Code or other AI coding tools, and the ability to explain how you work with them - Care for clean data models, proper indexing, and avoiding shortcuts that cost you later - The ability to take a spec and run with it - Clear written communication - Reliability and follow-through - Someone coachable who wants to grow into bigger architecture challenges - Bonus: PostgreSQL/JSONB depth, Sidekiq/Redis, AWS exposure, AI/API integration work
