Back-end Developer at Denominator, the leading provider of human-centric data & insights globally

We are looking for the right individual to join Denominator, the leading provider of human-centric data & insights on companies and countries globally. This is a unique opportunity to work in an international environment and to directly impact a positive change in investment decisions, supply chain management, and sustainability efforts across corporations. Our audience includes the biggest companies and organizations across sectors, and we collaborate with the media and academia. We are looking for a backend developer to join our growing tech team. You will work closely with our tech team and CTO as well as collaborate with Denominator's Growth and BI teams to create new data products and solutions. Your day-to-day involves • Design, build, and maintain REST APIs and backend services in C# / .NET that power Denominator's internal and external data platforms • Develop and optimize our data-processing pipeline — the ingestion, transformation, and enrichment of company, country and industry data as it moves through our processing stages • Work with PostgreSQL and Entity Framework Core: model data, write efficient queries, and handle large-scale bulk data operations • Build and deploy services to AWS (containerized services in Lightsail, S3) and integrate third-party data sources • Leverage AI/LLM tooling in the product (OpenAI, Anthropic) and in your own workflow — every backend developer gets a corporate Claude subscription • Write clean, modular, well-tested, and well-documented backend code • Troubleshoot, profile, and debug performance and data-quality issues across the pipeline • Participate in code reviews to maintain high standards of quality and consistency Qualifications – we imagine that you have Industrial experience and worked with • Stack: C# and .NET 9, ASP.NET Core for REST APIs • Databases: PostgreSQL and Entity Framework Core (plus comfort with raw SQL) • API design: designing and consuming RESTful APIs (OpenAPI/Swagger) A bonus if you have knowledge or experience with • Cloud: AWS — S3, Lightsail, Systems Manager — and Docker • Testing: NUnit, integration testing, and code-coverage tooling • Data engineering: large-scale CSV/Excel/PDF ingestion and ETL pipelines • AI/LLM integration via the OpenAI or Anthropic SDKs • Experience with financial, ESG, or sustainability data domains Often used packages: EF Core, AWS SDK Personal skills – we expect that you are • A team player with a collaborative mindset who actively participates in code reviews, provides constructive feedback, and welcomes input from others to continuously improve the codebase • One who takes ownership and responsibility for the quality and maintainability of your code, and collaborates with the team to set high standards for the backend codebase What we offer When you join Denominator, you do not just join a company – you join a journey!
