Backend Developer for AI Medical Platform

**Backend Developer — AI-Powered Medical Expert Opinion Platform** We are building MEXOP — a B2B SaaS platform that automates the analysis, generation and management of medical expert opinions for insurance companies and legal institutions. The platform uses AI to process complex medico-legal cases, generate structured expert reports and manage multi-party workflows between insurers, expert witnesses and legal teams. We are looking for an experienced backend developer to join us as a freelance partner for the initial build phase. **What you will build:** — RESTful API architecture (Node.js or Python/FastAPI) — AI pipeline integration (OpenAI / Anthropic API or equivalent) — Role-based access control for multiple user types (insurer, expert witness, admin) — Document processing and structured report generation — Audit trail and case management logic — Database architecture (PostgreSQL preferred) — Secure data handling compliant with German/EU data protection law (DSGVO) **You bring:** — 4+ years backend experience — Proven experience with LLM/AI API integration — Strong understanding of security, data privacy and GDPR-compliant architecture — Experience with B2B SaaS products — Clean, documented code and clear communication — English proficiency required; German is a plus **Project scope:** MVP build.
