Backend Developer for AI Workflows and Mini-Apps

Synekt is a process-improvement company. We help businesses run leaner by building and operating AI workflows, mini web apps, and AI agents that take over the repetitive parts of their operations. We build it, run it, and keep improving it rather than handing over a tool and walking away. We are based in Cameroon and work with clients anywhere. We have already started building this for several clients, and we are looking for someone who can help structure the backend properly as we keep growing it. Much of the building is done with AI coding tools, so we need someone genuinely fast with them, and able to bring real structure to what those tools produce rather than just generating code and shipping it. What you would work on Structuring and building the backend behind our AI workflows and mini apps, so it stays clean and maintainable as the client base grows AI workflows in Python, including data pipelines, integrations, and scheduled automations Small internal web apps in React Setting up and maintaining AI agents Integrating external systems such as ERPs like Odoo, messaging APIs, bank and mobile-money feeds, and GPS providers Maintaining and improving everything we ship, since we run what we build rather than handing it off Must have Strong production Python with a real sense of structure. Clean architecture, proper error handling, code that stays maintainable as it grows. Genuine fluency with LLM coding tools like Claude Code and Codex, and the judgment to structure what they produce rather than shipping whatever comes out Hands-on experience building AI workflows and agentic systems (OpenClaw, Hermes, or similar) Comfort integrating messy, poorly documented REST APIs that need authentication PostgreSQL, including sensible data modeling React for small web apps Solid working English, since all backend work and team communication happen in English Nice to have Odoo or other ERP experience, which is rare and valuable to us French, since our clients may be French or English speaking Supabase, Windmill, or similar workflow and data platforms How we work All backend work and internal communication are in English. Our clients can be French or English speaking. We start with a paid trial on a real, scoped task, with a clear path to a long-term and potentially full-time role if it goes well. We don't have a big budget as a startup, $300-500 per month exlcuding the AI coding tools you'll have access to. We run a managed service, so reliability and clear communication matter as much as raw skill. Things staying up, and you flagging problems early, is part of the job.
